Dad gets busy in the early part of the year, and inevitably the blog gets neglected...but let's get to it!<br />
<br />
For my fifth birthday, having never played the game before, I decided that I wanted a bowling party! It seemed like a good idea at the time! <br />
<br />
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rdgcB1XAywE/UtX1wSBS--I/AAAAAAAAE9s/I_I8Uif5WgQ/s1600/IMG_0312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rdgcB1XAywE/UtX1wSBS--I/AAAAAAAAE9s/I_I8Uif5WgQ/s320/IMG_0312.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
So we found a place nearby that was a bowling alley, and also did parties...we invited a bunch of my friends, and got set up. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uUYpMjiTnLE/UtX1wYEdV4I/AAAAAAAAE9w/VkScmhG7DyY/s1600/IMG_0315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uUYpMjiTnLE/UtX1wYEdV4I/AAAAAAAAE9w/VkScmhG7DyY/s320/IMG_0315.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Mom was showing me some solid bowling moves, using this metal ramp to help me aim the ball (even the lightest balls are pretty heavy, so it was tough to pick it up and roll it down the lane)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0haZasiobeo/UtX1zzFZSuI/AAAAAAAAE98/ZN0t7IW1fjM/s1600/IMG_0316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0haZasiobeo/UtX1zzFZSuI/AAAAAAAAE98/ZN0t7IW1fjM/s320/IMG_0316.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
But with Mom's help, I did OK!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bkSjmXHhaoI/UtX10snSY2I/AAAAAAAAE-I/penreu_t-_Q/s1600/IMG_0317.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bkSjmXHhaoI/UtX10snSY2I/AAAAAAAAE-I/penreu_t-_Q/s320/IMG_0317.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
It was pretty overwhelming. With all the lights and loud music, it was a little tough to concentrate and stay in a good mood...not really understanding the game, I would sometimes get upset, even when I was winning....it took awhile, but once I got everything straightened out, I had a great time!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VWOVoKPJCwg/UtX10nNi4QI/AAAAAAAAE-A/7-e1e6Zm7h4/s1600/IMG_0318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VWOVoKPJCwg/UtX10nNi4QI/AAAAAAAAE-A/7-e1e6Zm7h4/s320/IMG_0318.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
All my friends were bowling up a storm! The parents seemed to have a great time helping us play, and even though it was a bit loud, there was a lot of music to enjoy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ISbsKB8wEu0/UtX13rN4_yI/AAAAAAAAE-U/3c2rf0QTJas/s1600/IMG_0320.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ISbsKB8wEu0/UtX13rN4_yI/AAAAAAAAE-U/3c2rf0QTJas/s320/IMG_0320.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
For my first game ever, I really wasn't doing too bad!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v629cY7RsO4/UtX14E868aI/AAAAAAAAE-Y/kDUQe-senGM/s1600/IMG_0328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v629cY7RsO4/UtX14E868aI/AAAAAAAAE-Y/kDUQe-senGM/s320/IMG_0328.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
After we got our bowling time in, they brought out my cake...yes, the Buzz Lightyear and alien candles made yet another appearance....what can I say!? They're my FAVORITE candles!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35THYrJ9LL0/UtX176ChHdI/AAAAAAAAE-k/jT0bwSrsQe8/s1600/IMG_0329.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35THYrJ9LL0/UtX176ChHdI/AAAAAAAAE-k/jT0bwSrsQe8/s320/IMG_0329.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I made sure everyone stood back while they lit the candles...and everyone sang a wonderful rendition of 'Happy Birthday' as always!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4UPysXrNmuo/UtX18BE77FI/AAAAAAAAE-o/1I5ZXv8QO0w/s1600/IMG_0334.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4UPysXrNmuo/UtX18BE77FI/AAAAAAAAE-o/1I5ZXv8QO0w/s320/IMG_0334.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I blew out the candles, and got them all out with the help of some of my friends...I do hope my wishes all come true! I would tell you whether or not they did, but I'm not 100% sure about the statute of limitations on telling the secret wish...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-08obnXkhLXM/UtX179H8yhI/AAAAAAAAE-s/F2TxghomLyg/s1600/IMG_0338.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-08obnXkhLXM/UtX179H8yhI/AAAAAAAAE-s/F2TxghomLyg/s320/IMG_0338.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Check out these shoes! They are two different colors, and specially made for walking on the wood floors at the bowling alley!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NVFCYLkEKSM/UtX19qCvqjI/AAAAAAAAE-8/XGczxBm5TFw/s1600/IMG_0339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NVFCYLkEKSM/UtX19qCvqjI/AAAAAAAAE-8/XGczxBm5TFw/s320/IMG_0339.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Once we wrapped up the party, I slid right into playing a few games of air hockey with my friends...I had been eying the games the entire time we were there, and was SO excited to finally get to play...I was a little bit teary when we had to leave since I was truly overwhelmed...both by the love and generosity of my friends, but by the experience itself. Certainly a lot going on!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-72065738916678400812014-03-18T13:24:00.005-04:002023-11-28T20:44:03.992-05:00My Fifth Birthday Party With My Family!As in the past, the winter has passed me by, and I ended up getting behind on the blog. I am now going to spend the next few days recapping the holidays in March (although, it seems fitting, as there is about 7 inches of snow outside as I type this)<br />
<br />
Also as in the past, we had my birthday party at Gramma Mindy's. There was some snowy weather, but it wasn't so bad that people couldn't come (which was nice)<br />
<br />
The goodie bags included some very cool items, one of which was a giant balloon with an elastic band on it that you could use as a punching bag. Me and the other kids thought it was awesome...well, the kids and Gramma Debbie. :-) :-)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NaB1FTcxryo/UtX5L0ewz9I/AAAAAAAAFCg/AbO0h38qFxs/s1600/IMAG1918.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NaB1FTcxryo/UtX5L0ewz9I/AAAAAAAAFCg/AbO0h38qFxs/s320/IMAG1918.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
I got to play with my cousins a lot which is always a blast. Timothy and I had some great fun hiding from people, and hanging out in our own little clubhouse which doubled as the cake table. <br />
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cTQGZRgUg8Y/UtX20f_UTqI/AAAAAAAAE_I/GSaLbjBJKYU/s1600/IMG_0185.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cTQGZRgUg8Y/UtX20f_UTqI/AAAAAAAAE_I/GSaLbjBJKYU/s320/IMG_0185.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
When that table got co-opted, we moved to the main dining table, which was just as nice, and also had a great base that doubled as a lovely decorative column for our clubhouse.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3M34sfdsU0I/UtX21R_GE-I/AAAAAAAAE_U/DiPJCTcdBbM/s1600/IMG_0186.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3M34sfdsU0I/UtX21R_GE-I/AAAAAAAAE_U/DiPJCTcdBbM/s320/IMG_0186.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Lots of people came, and there was great food, snacks, and fun! Grandpa and Auntie Steph are hanging out with my newest cousin Anthony, while more folks mill around the living area.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3tBeS6Y4--g/UtX21IfjjeI/AAAAAAAAE_M/As4GxLFfUaE/s1600/IMG_0190.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3tBeS6Y4--g/UtX21IfjjeI/AAAAAAAAE_M/As4GxLFfUaE/s320/IMG_0190.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Mom and I had a lot of fun moments together during the party. It was great to be so sweet with her. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4SOc5dHsFXo/UtX238iC02I/AAAAAAAAE_g/xoLiBigRwX4/s1600/IMG_0192.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4SOc5dHsFXo/UtX238iC02I/AAAAAAAAE_g/xoLiBigRwX4/s320/IMG_0192.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
When the time came for the cake, I shared the moment with Braelynn, Nick, and Timothy. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RLk42sA5KmA/UtX25FVWXJI/AAAAAAAAE_o/xJlgXRoo3jk/s1600/IMG_0193.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RLk42sA5KmA/UtX25FVWXJI/AAAAAAAAE_o/xJlgXRoo3jk/s320/IMG_0193.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The cake had a few really cool balloons on it, a number 5 candle, and the Buzz Lightyear candles that make the rounds for all my birthdays (What can I say?! I love those candles!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KpvF_HKuFGM/UtX28L5PpiI/AAAAAAAAE_0/NwNlqr4pIRM/s1600/IMG_0195.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KpvF_HKuFGM/UtX28L5PpiI/AAAAAAAAE_0/NwNlqr4pIRM/s320/IMG_0195.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I got to lick the frosting off of the big candle after I blew out the candles and made my wish (Don't think you'll get me to tell you my wish...then it won't come true!!) Look at Nick's face! He is <i>fascinated</i> by that candle frosting...I was coerced into sharing the candles with the other kids. I guess I can share, even on my birthday.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ooXDUbpvU0Y/UtX27rs_qzI/AAAAAAAAE_w/4XAQnEcyQ_c/s1600/IMG_0198.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ooXDUbpvU0Y/UtX27rs_qzI/AAAAAAAAE_w/4XAQnEcyQ_c/s320/IMG_0198.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We had a really great spread of food, but behind Mom you will see the greatest game ever made in the entire world....PIN THE TAIL ON THE BULLSEYE!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ziOPtMS5f0U/UtX29H8ipoI/AAAAAAAAFAA/2LAZGEzhWdo/s1600/IMG_0203.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ziOPtMS5f0U/UtX29H8ipoI/AAAAAAAAFAA/2LAZGEzhWdo/s320/IMG_0203.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
It's just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, except that it's WAY cooler...it has BULLSEYE from Toy Story!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sTFF9tl416E/UtX2_q5NHeI/AAAAAAAAFAI/bWK7Ao4I5ew/s1600/IMG_0206.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sTFF9tl416E/UtX2_q5NHeI/AAAAAAAAFAI/bWK7Ao4I5ew/s320/IMG_0206.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Mom got everything set up, and read us the directions...I was very excited to play. Basically, it was grab a sticky tail, put on a blindfold, get spun around until you lose your bearings a bit, and try to move forward to put the tail on the Bullseye where it belongs.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vmEqT7QNcwU/UtX3Cv9uJII/AAAAAAAAFAU/pKFNp3I-paU/s1600/IMG_0207.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vmEqT7QNcwU/UtX3Cv9uJII/AAAAAAAAFAU/pKFNp3I-paU/s320/IMG_0207.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
On my first try, I did great, but we had some issues with understanding everyone taking a turn, and ALSO getting to put the sticker on...after a brief meltdown, we resume the game.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L7HT-ubZFYY/UtX3CkumrsI/AAAAAAAAFAQ/fQy_8IiQQP8/s1600/IMG_0213.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L7HT-ubZFYY/UtX3CkumrsI/AAAAAAAAFAQ/fQy_8IiQQP8/s320/IMG_0213.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We all did pretty well, if I do say so myself! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZC_41e_Tj64/UtX3DDn_IPI/AAAAAAAAFAY/taT2fvXiXBA/s1600/IMG_0216.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZC_41e_Tj64/UtX3DDn_IPI/AAAAAAAAFAY/taT2fvXiXBA/s320/IMG_0216.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Yet another wonderful birthday party with my family!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-38989066120590643412014-02-17T14:29:00.002-05:002014-03-18T13:07:34.914-04:00Christmas 2013 in Connecticut!!Hello people, and Happy belated 2014 to you all!<br />
<br />
It's been a busy January thus far in the P-G household, and I am only now just getting into the updates for life as we are living it! So...After taking January (OK...and part of February) off, it's time to get back into blogging, people!<br />
<br />
It was a great holiday season...As usual, we spent some time with lots of different members of our family. Lots of traveling, lots of running around, but it was all wonderful. I really enjoy seeing my cousins, and other members of my family at the holidays.<br />
<br />
The biggest news, of course, is that Santa came through. Even though it wasn't the exact cookie robot I wanted, Santa brought the next best thing! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5yoZTBBjTIY/UtX3stRPBHI/AAAAAAAAFAs/JFnKBP-CMik/s1600/IMG_0157.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5yoZTBBjTIY/UtX3stRPBHI/AAAAAAAAFAs/JFnKBP-CMik/s320/IMG_0157.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
It was something called "RoboKid". The box made him look REEEEALLY awesome, and when I unwrapped him, I was SO excited!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FCNEDq5U5xg/UtX3wVUSRPI/AAAAAAAAFA4/oBUg5cByf-A/s1600/IMG_0158.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FCNEDq5U5xg/UtX3wVUSRPI/AAAAAAAAFA4/oBUg5cByf-A/s320/IMG_0158.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I couldn't stop looking at him through the front of the box. He had so many cool features! It said he danced, and played music, and shot foam discs out of his mouth! I mean, what more can you ask for?!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Cz1pcMLHOhs/UtX3sRaZGeI/AAAAAAAAFAo/of2HpUS047A/s1600/IMG_0159.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Cz1pcMLHOhs/UtX3sRaZGeI/AAAAAAAAFAo/of2HpUS047A/s320/IMG_0159.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I couldn't help but hug the box, I was so excited! Thank you so much, Santa Claus!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j0ZwMX-XjhA/UtX3w2nrpGI/AAAAAAAAFA8/3tY0KT9IJ7Y/s1600/IMG_0160.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j0ZwMX-XjhA/UtX3w2nrpGI/AAAAAAAAFA8/3tY0KT9IJ7Y/s320/IMG_0160.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Even though that was coolest gift ever, I moved on to other stuff that I got. As always, my family was very generous, and I got lots of cool stuff!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5iLS4xj-I4Q/UtX3wzShZII/AAAAAAAAFBE/IRVK7PN3gME/s1600/IMG_0161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5iLS4xj-I4Q/UtX3wzShZII/AAAAAAAAFBE/IRVK7PN3gME/s320/IMG_0161.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I got some new stuff for my Thomas Trains...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--ySuHb4qsGo/UtX3zyhFGkI/AAAAAAAAFBQ/LsWRtTYiRbc/s1600/IMG_0162.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--ySuHb4qsGo/UtX3zyhFGkI/AAAAAAAAFBQ/LsWRtTYiRbc/s320/IMG_0162.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Aunt Mallory and Uncle Mat* got me a Bullseye stuffed animal, so now Woody the Cowboy has someone to ride and have adventures with alongside Buzz Lightyear! How great is that? He looks JUST like the Bullseye in the movies. They knows what I like!<br />
<br />
*Originally I had remembered this incorrectly and thought it was Gramma Mindy that got this for me...don't feel sad for her, though...she got me plenty of other awesome stuff. :-) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f0D74JuZ_QY/UtX31vDpD0I/AAAAAAAAFBc/AoHJBmpQhfk/s1600/IMG_0163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f0D74JuZ_QY/UtX31vDpD0I/AAAAAAAAFBc/AoHJBmpQhfk/s320/IMG_0163.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Once I finished opening most of my gifts, I simply HAD to pull RoboKid out of his box so I could see what he did. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--4rjE_XTKOk/UtX31gXHATI/AAAAAAAAFBY/Dj8BgFyJsEQ/s1600/IMG_0165.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--4rjE_XTKOk/UtX31gXHATI/AAAAAAAAFBY/Dj8BgFyJsEQ/s320/IMG_0165.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Sure enough, I got a remote control with him, and he did everything I thought he would! He played his own songs, and danced to them....he fired pretend lazers from his hands, and yes....he did fire foam discs right from his mouth! This just be the most incredible toy I have ever had!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v9Skt0im8s8/UtX32pUrp6I/AAAAAAAAFBo/xnZGVlo1n2w/s1600/IMG_0169.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v9Skt0im8s8/UtX32pUrp6I/AAAAAAAAFBo/xnZGVlo1n2w/s320/IMG_0169.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
More fun stuff awaited me at Gramma Debbie's. There were so many presents that there are still a few I haven't opened! Can you BELIEVE IT!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-908Mrkooyxg/UtX4GLgYjtI/AAAAAAAAFCA/KQBG5D2IpFA/s1600/IMG_0173.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-908Mrkooyxg/UtX4GLgYjtI/AAAAAAAAFCA/KQBG5D2IpFA/s320/IMG_0173.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I got a golf game that I haven't tried yet, but once the weather improves, I'm bringing it outside and giving it a shot!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y01XbhTypPI/UtX4EkXE4xI/AAAAAAAAFBw/Hr6rqp_ayWE/s1600/IMG_0175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y01XbhTypPI/UtX4EkXE4xI/AAAAAAAAFBw/Hr6rqp_ayWE/s320/IMG_0175.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
One of the other big gifts I got was....yes....you recognize that pink box. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IznOUDJa8A8/UtX4ExWALuI/AAAAAAAAFB0/yNCi5LrzTsM/s1600/IMG_0178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IznOUDJa8A8/UtX4ExWALuI/AAAAAAAAFB0/yNCi5LrzTsM/s320/IMG_0178.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
After scrutinizing the box thoroughly, I discovered that it was, in fact, Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl. Just like my Buzz and Woody, she was JUST like the ones in the Toy Story movies. She had yarn hair, and a cowgirl hat, and she talked to you just like Buzz and Woody. She fit right in<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-etimvE0FAIA/UtX4I4ucC2I/AAAAAAAAFCI/-TWayT9GWJc/s1600/IMG_0181.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-etimvE0FAIA/UtX4I4ucC2I/AAAAAAAAFCI/-TWayT9GWJc/s320/IMG_0181.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
So yeah.....family, and great new gifts to add to the collection....what more could one ask for?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b365AwuZh7s/UtX4IwDPR5I/AAAAAAAAFCM/IgET1sCslcs/s1600/IMAG1895.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b365AwuZh7s/UtX4IwDPR5I/AAAAAAAAFCM/IgET1sCslcs/s320/IMAG1895.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
How about a gift-wrapped Sam?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-59f6NAZG3j8/UtX4JVSWqdI/AAAAAAAAFCQ/Ii_wFruGt4g/s1600/IMAG1896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-59f6NAZG3j8/UtX4JVSWqdI/AAAAAAAAFCQ/Ii_wFruGt4g/s320/IMAG1896.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CiysUV0g30U/UrDu3lIr7UI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/yi_2-R0AuHc/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CiysUV0g30U/UrDu3lIr7UI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/yi_2-R0AuHc/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
For my second New Year's Eve Post (and my final in 2013) I wanted to take you all on a trip to the National Building Museum to see another Mini-Golf game! The <a href="http://thepgdot.blogspot.com/2012/10/my-first-mini-golf-excursion.html" target="_blank">FIRST GAME</a> we played last year, and this year was even better...they had TWO courses you could choose from, which not only made it less packed with people, but there were more chances for someone to get really creative with the mini-golf courses!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-rrbAS3xYs/UrDvADgcUsI/AAAAAAAAE18/mHhK3HexDos/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(6).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-rrbAS3xYs/UrDvADgcUsI/AAAAAAAAE18/mHhK3HexDos/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(6).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
These were VERY cool holes this year...kudos to the designers! The one above is actually a hologram...you had to hit your ball through a maze that was generated by holograms. There were actual walls that you had to navigate around, in addition to cityscapes that weren't really there. Awesome! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8IUXxJ6iTpQ/UrDvE8qJWqI/AAAAAAAAE2Y/WG3QfIgloc8/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(7).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8IUXxJ6iTpQ/UrDvE8qJWqI/AAAAAAAAE2Y/WG3QfIgloc8/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(7).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This one was cool because it not only featured a building under construction...but there were little toy trucks as well! The backhoe "Dug" me a hole to hit my ball into! Also, check out those mini orange cones. Nice touch!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vyuyIb-_-vQ/UrDvD-49-iI/AAAAAAAAE2Q/d8LqXFR6N3I/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(8).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vyuyIb-_-vQ/UrDvD-49-iI/AAAAAAAAE2Q/d8LqXFR6N3I/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(8).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I don't know if you can tell from this shot, but this next hole featured DC landmarks under glass...I believe this one is the Capitol!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tcseif5wN4c/UrDvFXX-T7I/AAAAAAAAE2c/BI2W3ysymCc/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(9).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tcseif5wN4c/UrDvFXX-T7I/AAAAAAAAE2c/BI2W3ysymCc/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(9).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The holes were fun, but pretty challenging. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H1C6gbScYck/UrDuvf14T5I/AAAAAAAAE0g/VS6ViaKs_hQ/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(11).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H1C6gbScYck/UrDuvf14T5I/AAAAAAAAE0g/VS6ViaKs_hQ/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(11).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I think I got my stance down pretty well, don't you?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K_cEQC0ZWII/UrDuv9a6NII/AAAAAAAAE0k/UTq5chBeA8Q/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(13).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K_cEQC0ZWII/UrDuv9a6NII/AAAAAAAAE0k/UTq5chBeA8Q/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(13).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I was pretty excited when the ball went in for this one, because you had to hit it around a corner, which was pretty tough!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JKGxog1qHxk/UrDuwElwEGI/AAAAAAAAE0o/Mi7Eh_z8Jh0/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(14).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JKGxog1qHxk/UrDuwElwEGI/AAAAAAAAE0o/Mi7Eh_z8Jh0/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(14).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Once I got the ball in, I took a moment to make some (sanctioned) graffiti on the wall that separated the two areas of the hole!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hmuqlRuOUzI/UrDuzExJyQI/AAAAAAAAE04/tPtOAOYG3Dg/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(15).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hmuqlRuOUzI/UrDuzExJyQI/AAAAAAAAE04/tPtOAOYG3Dg/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(15).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There was a schoolhouse themed hole that was REALLY tough to get through, but Mom did a great job! She's a natural!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1THe3gR24k0/UrDu1e-l4BI/AAAAAAAAE1I/cf01lYmuWds/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(16).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1THe3gR24k0/UrDu1e-l4BI/AAAAAAAAE1I/cf01lYmuWds/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(16).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This one had a working bell, which I, of course, had to ring!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6_8rFxnvQDM/UrDu0e_56dI/AAAAAAAAE1A/euoUPS1_yV0/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(18).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6_8rFxnvQDM/UrDu0e_56dI/AAAAAAAAE1A/euoUPS1_yV0/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(18).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This next one is based on the city and the Metro (with a tiny Metro station pylon) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-73WSptEvcS8/UrDu4LZM0jI/AAAAAAAAE1U/GDCeC0GWnqQ/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(21).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-73WSptEvcS8/UrDu4LZM0jI/AAAAAAAAE1U/GDCeC0GWnqQ/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(21).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
It was kind of hard to get through because of the way the planks were set up. Certainly made it a challenge!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMOOyIHtbj0/UrDu7WGsAnI/AAAAAAAAE1g/udcoGQSA8bM/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(23).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMOOyIHtbj0/UrDu7WGsAnI/AAAAAAAAE1g/udcoGQSA8bM/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(23).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Undaunted, I played through and finally got the ball in!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K4H-8DHHRJc/UrDu8mUgNcI/AAAAAAAAE1s/7KVvskJq1ao/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(25).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K4H-8DHHRJc/UrDu8mUgNcI/AAAAAAAAE1s/7KVvskJq1ao/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(25).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The final hole glowed in several different colors, which was really pretty to watch, but I think they were hoping it would distract you a bit too....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B0kbH47Bdaw/UrDu8YSys0I/AAAAAAAAE1o/xOaTruTZu_I/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(27).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B0kbH47Bdaw/UrDu8YSys0I/AAAAAAAAE1o/xOaTruTZu_I/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(27).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
That didn't matter though, because even though the final hole was tough, I managed to get a hole in one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AVzEJiRoFBc/UrDu_p5GqmI/AAAAAAAAE14/P-hYpWtaraI/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(29).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AVzEJiRoFBc/UrDu_p5GqmI/AAAAAAAAE14/P-hYpWtaraI/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(29).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This was my second hole in one of the day, (I don't remember which one was my first) and the fact that it was on the last, and one of the most challenging holes, was amazing! Everyone was so excited for me, even people that didn't know me and were just playing the game at the museum at the same time that we were!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E0MROiee5X4/UrDvBmVbe0I/AAAAAAAAE2I/bBVmhV5nfEw/s1600/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(31).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E0MROiee5X4/UrDvBmVbe0I/AAAAAAAAE2I/bBVmhV5nfEw/s320/National+Building+Museum+Mini+Golf+2013+(31).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And no visit to The National Building Museum would be complete without playing with the various building blocks and toys that they leave out in the main hallway....Mom and I had a lot of fun building towers out of these little wooden planks...and I then happily destroyed them!<br />
<br />
On that note...everyone have a safe and happy New Year that does not include any kind of destruction (Unless it's intentional, and fills you with great joy!) See you all in 2014! <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tAlFro71L2k/UrDt_ByuVII/AAAAAAAAEz8/Bt3HIFZmw_I/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tAlFro71L2k/UrDt_ByuVII/AAAAAAAAEz8/Bt3HIFZmw_I/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(4).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Happy New Year's Eve, folks! I'm celebrating the New Year with Golf! Well...not really, but I'm celebrating it with two blog posts about Mini-Golf! They will be my final posts of 2013, and that should officially catch me up! (We'll see if I need to do any more catching up if I look through my photo archives, but if this is it, then that would be the first year that I am not playing catch-up deep into the new year! How cool is THAT!?)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g6VYU04jkwo/UrDuDTBzjbI/AAAAAAAAE0I/l2qg9X2bfj8/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(7).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g6VYU04jkwo/UrDuDTBzjbI/AAAAAAAAE0I/l2qg9X2bfj8/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(7).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
First, I will show you some stuff from Father's Day. Dad got it into his head that he wanted to go miniature golfing for Father's Day, and we found a nice little mini-golf course out in Maryland. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIGfTXwiLSA/UrDuEFymd_I/AAAAAAAAE0U/te_e0zXvKKE/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(8).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIGfTXwiLSA/UrDuEFymd_I/AAAAAAAAE0U/te_e0zXvKKE/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(8).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I was doing pretty well (depending on the hole...some of those things are <i>tough!</i>)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wLBRKwKTM7w/UrDuDMoh3WI/AAAAAAAAE0E/nLBANR3NMzk/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(9).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wLBRKwKTM7w/UrDuDMoh3WI/AAAAAAAAE0E/nLBANR3NMzk/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(9).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Dad seemed to be having a great time.<br />
<br />
I was having fun, too....except that there was a brother/sister team that kept insisting on jumping onto our hole and messing with my ball. A couple times, they even went ahead and took my ball out of the hole (or put it in, depending on their moods at the moment)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--S7720PL46c/UrDtv8v_p3I/AAAAAAAAEyw/An1XbCvlz0I/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(11).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--S7720PL46c/UrDtv8v_p3I/AAAAAAAAEyw/An1XbCvlz0I/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(11).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did my best to be patient, and walk away from the situation, but it really was tough to keep my cool. Grrrr... :-( Where were the parents!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4YqixUUQxOw/UrDtuhyxDKI/AAAAAAAAEys/JGqvmLwq89I/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(10).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4YqixUUQxOw/UrDtuhyxDKI/AAAAAAAAEys/JGqvmLwq89I/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(10).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Ugh.<br />
<br />
We rallied after our little invasion by the other kids, and ended up having a pretty good time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k7Qrv9cYBGg/UrDtwpk0CBI/AAAAAAAAEy4/DDNnGLRGIo0/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(12).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k7Qrv9cYBGg/UrDtwpk0CBI/AAAAAAAAEy4/DDNnGLRGIo0/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(12).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Dad did his best to show me the best way to hit the ball successfully, but I really just like hitting it how I like to hit it, ya know? We all have our own style!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-krXKhxFYnEU/UrDt0v5qlNI/AAAAAAAAEzE/NBYtwAR_qUU/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(13).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-krXKhxFYnEU/UrDt0v5qlNI/AAAAAAAAEzE/NBYtwAR_qUU/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(13).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Mom also showed me a little bit of her mini-golf skillz (That's right....skillz with a 'z', everyone.) and it definitely helped, too.... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KfQgCth7034/UrDt1UKhXXI/AAAAAAAAEzQ/vRqew83kckw/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(15).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KfQgCth7034/UrDt1UKhXXI/AAAAAAAAEzQ/vRqew83kckw/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(15).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
....but not enough for me to not face tragedy once again, as yet another one of my balls insisted on staying away from the hole I had tried to hit it into.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNTPHcwks_E/UrDt1hQsKzI/AAAAAAAAEzM/Xmebc3mQIgY/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(17).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNTPHcwks_E/UrDt1hQsKzI/AAAAAAAAEzM/Xmebc3mQIgY/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(17).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The roller coaster of emotion continued as I started picking up and doing well again, and Mom was just cleaning up. She did great! Try as they might to keep score, my erratic (yet endearing) style of play made it near-impossible to keep score for too long, and they gave up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JWxN4UUIJGg/UrDt5bruqmI/AAAAAAAAEzc/SGgRtGAJTzA/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(18).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JWxN4UUIJGg/UrDt5bruqmI/AAAAAAAAEzc/SGgRtGAJTzA/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(18).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The final hole was a frog where you had to hit your ball through the base, and then up a slight incline, until it landed in a hole that gobbled your ball up for someone else to play with. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CBK7S71Nqqc/UrDt5wBQozI/AAAAAAAAEzg/Y6-0Ntnv6KE/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(22).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CBK7S71Nqqc/UrDt5wBQozI/AAAAAAAAEzg/Y6-0Ntnv6KE/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(22).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We timed it all just right, since a big picnic let out nearby, which meant that a bunch of people got in line to play, just as we were wrapping up. Score!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nsdw6WsFG7c/UrDt9jb4tOI/AAAAAAAAEzw/eO3F10752m4/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(23).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nsdw6WsFG7c/UrDt9jb4tOI/AAAAAAAAEzw/eO3F10752m4/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(23).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I tried a couple times to get the ball in, to no avail....then, I got serious....set my stance up just like Mom and Dad showed me, and I hit the ball through the base!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yeDhedS0rO8/UrDt8xN7skI/AAAAAAAAEzs/k9z4lcMUvQ0/s1600/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(24).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yeDhedS0rO8/UrDt8xN7skI/AAAAAAAAEzs/k9z4lcMUvQ0/s320/Father%27s+Day+Mini+Golf+June+2013+(24).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
While it took me a few more swings to finish the hole off, I finally got my ball in, with Mom and Dad following soon after. Some snacks, and a ride on an old, squeaky, yet totally endearing train finished off Father's Day 2013 in a lovely way...The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-73861079790026314682013-12-30T15:10:00.000-05:002013-12-30T15:10:00.106-05:00Washington Nationals Baseball Game 2013 GAME 2As we had hoped, we managed to get to a second game at Nationals Park this year!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g1gQoCks30E/Unb__Cl8sJI/AAAAAAAAEoQ/YJkbOJ3bFTc/s1600/IMAG1521.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g1gQoCks30E/Unb__Cl8sJI/AAAAAAAAEoQ/YJkbOJ3bFTc/s320/IMAG1521.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Dad went straight from work, while Mom and I took the Metro over to meet him at the stadium.<br />
<br />
Outside of the stadium, there was a rogue President just wandering around....who is this guy? Harding? Is that Harding?! I dunno! Why are you asking me!? I'm five, AND he's creeping me out! I gave him a WIDE berth while walking to the stadium...that person standing next to him is supposed to protect him from US....whereas I think she should be doing the opposite... Give me the spooky shivers just recalling this moment for the blog...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ijsZIgVBYoc/Unb_8u6KgrI/AAAAAAAAEn0/n0NG_-UOIvA/s1600/IMAG1515.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ijsZIgVBYoc/Unb_8u6KgrI/AAAAAAAAEn0/n0NG_-UOIvA/s320/IMAG1515.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
On our way in, we saw some really cool garbage cans that had giant baseball helmets on them. Cool, right? <br />
Green Dinosaur, who joined us for this go-around, certainly approved.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qmd1MS3-l1U/Unb_8YyncmI/AAAAAAAAEnw/fqb8ToC3CvU/s1600/IMAG1518.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qmd1MS3-l1U/Unb_8YyncmI/AAAAAAAAEnw/fqb8ToC3CvU/s320/IMAG1518.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Dad was kind enough to carry it in the car with him, and that meant that once again, the foam finger made a grand re-appearance! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BCh3wzfEZbU/Unb_8FOL5pI/AAAAAAAAEns/S7nzPByQRuE/s1600/IMAG1520.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BCh3wzfEZbU/Unb_8FOL5pI/AAAAAAAAEns/S7nzPByQRuE/s320/IMAG1520.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
It was helpful, both as a tool for showing my enormously fingered support of our team, AND for having a soft place for Green Dinosaur to nuzzle into when he was tired.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DkcPhqaxoqQ/Unb_-iT25bI/AAAAAAAAEoM/nFQK7KqEuVM/s1600/IMAG1523.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DkcPhqaxoqQ/Unb_-iT25bI/AAAAAAAAEoM/nFQK7KqEuVM/s320/IMAG1523.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
At one point in the game, a pigeon ended up on the field...we're not sure if he was injured or what, but he certainly had no intention of getting out of the way of the game, that's for sure! They tried to scoot him off the field, but he wouldn't budge, so they played for awhile with him just standing off to rear of first base. He left after awhile, but only when he was good and ready, I'm sure!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GhOgxJaqJfc/Unb_94kfSuI/AAAAAAAAEoE/Koa0Bh43kaY/s1600/IMAG1529-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="208" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GhOgxJaqJfc/Unb_94kfSuI/AAAAAAAAEoE/Koa0Bh43kaY/s320/IMAG1529-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The best news of all this time? THE NATIONALS WON! They CREAMED the Phillies 11-2. There were so many runs, and so many good plays, the Nats were REALLY doing a great job.<br />
<br />
This time around, I felt a little braver, and decided that I wanted to give running the bases a try...All three of us were SO excited to be right down there on the field where the players played the game. It was such a rush, and I think it's awesome that they let the kids do this. I was very worried about the fact that I would have to run without Mom or Dad, but I was trying to be brave about that, and also enjoy the fact that we were RIGHT THERE ON THE FIELD!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F9Au8xVOuj8/UncABsb_WJI/AAAAAAAAEog/3aJX39-k8dA/s1600/IMAG1537.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F9Au8xVOuj8/UncABsb_WJI/AAAAAAAAEog/3aJX39-k8dA/s320/IMAG1537.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
At the last minute, I decided that I couldn't do the run around the bases...the Presidents were too scary, and I didn't like the idea of running without Mom or Dad....I was pretty disappointed, but both Mom and Dad did their best to make sure that I was positive that I didn't want to run, and that my decision was final, because they wouldn't let us walk back in after we left...Like I said, I was bummed out, but still happy that we got to go on the field. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FE9FwCnyI_8/UncABrTfW2I/AAAAAAAAEoc/fkSx0H4m_34/s1600/IMAG1541.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FE9FwCnyI_8/UncABrTfW2I/AAAAAAAAEoc/fkSx0H4m_34/s320/IMAG1541.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Mom and I took a quick picture on the field, but I was still feeling a little upset about how the whole thing went down, so it was not my happiest moment. :-(<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iJ3ZzJg8Myg/UncACIT-FQI/AAAAAAAAEok/iYOwft9K7Ug/s1600/IMAG1542.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iJ3ZzJg8Myg/UncACIT-FQI/AAAAAAAAEok/iYOwft9K7Ug/s320/IMAG1542.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Luckily, after I talked it over with Mom and Dad, (who both assured me that they understood how difficult it was, not only to make the decision not to run, but to also make the decision to try going down to the field even though I was feeling anxious about it) I felt a lot better, and was perfectly content with how things went down, and I was excited about running along the corridor back to our car.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u08C2MB5w6Y/UncAEIpsceI/AAAAAAAAEo4/QEwVcorggIs/s1600/IMAG1545.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u08C2MB5w6Y/UncAEIpsceI/AAAAAAAAEo4/QEwVcorggIs/s320/IMAG1545.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I showed off some of my fancy dance moves while I jumped from bench to bench, and also showed off my red outfit that I wore to support my hometown team! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l9HRb66gqP4/UncAD5NVqTI/AAAAAAAAEo0/9gro1S2Luxc/s1600/IMAG1547.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l9HRb66gqP4/UncAD5NVqTI/AAAAAAAAEo0/9gro1S2Luxc/s320/IMAG1547.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Go Nationals! We'll see you next year!!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-18244761064493051132013-12-29T14:41:00.000-05:002013-12-29T14:41:01.060-05:00Washington Nationals Baseball Game 2013 GAME 1Continuing our end of the year wrap-up as I arrive back in Maryland after my lovely holiday week in Connecticut:<br />
<br />
After talking about it for some time, we FINALLY made it out to a couple baseball games to see the Washington Nationals play!<br />
<br />
Now, this wasn't my first baseball game (My first game was chronicled <a href="http://thepgdot.blogspot.com/2009/06/very-baseball-y-day.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> when we were in Louisville...man, I was a cute baby!) <br />
<br />
Dad and I both bought hats (Mom already had one from several years ago) and I finally realized my dream of getting a giant foam finger. It was the one thing I asked about as soon as we got our tickets...it took Mom a second to figure out exactly what I was asking for, but as soon as she did, they were nice enough to buy me one...I LOVED IT!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uEMcTPTJeFA/UikS18_e64I/AAAAAAAAEes/_68YiMj8Ie0/s1600/IMG_9262.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uEMcTPTJeFA/UikS18_e64I/AAAAAAAAEes/_68YiMj8Ie0/s320/IMG_9262.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We had great seats, and could see everything that was happening on the field perfectly. It was a little hot that day, but other than that, the weather was clear and pretty.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Yj4xcUjsEbE/UikSyNmsl2I/AAAAAAAAEec/qFx161pdw4Y/s1600/IMG_9263.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Yj4xcUjsEbE/UikSyNmsl2I/AAAAAAAAEec/qFx161pdw4Y/s320/IMG_9263.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Mom and I had some time to ourselves to enjoy the game because Dad went to get us snacks, and through a comedy of errors including all the credit card machines being down, it took him forever!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2DHm8flQQWM/UikSx7yJtnI/AAAAAAAAEeY/X0YiIWPcgzM/s1600/IMG_9264.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2DHm8flQQWM/UikSx7yJtnI/AAAAAAAAEeY/X0YiIWPcgzM/s320/IMG_9264.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Things got pretty serious as the sun beat down on us, and I was not happy about being so sweaty...but we managed to fight through so we could see our team play the whole game.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MVBMDIv75Ls/UikS1hawDYI/AAAAAAAAEew/WqxePRON1Cw/s1600/IMG_9265.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MVBMDIv75Ls/UikS1hawDYI/AAAAAAAAEew/WqxePRON1Cw/s320/IMG_9265.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Our team did great! I was happy to cheer on the red guys (as I came to call them) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PhYWvmQHuJU/UikS3c7zU2I/AAAAAAAAEe4/zEohh9M7NbM/s1600/IMG_9267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PhYWvmQHuJU/UikS3c7zU2I/AAAAAAAAEe4/zEohh9M7NbM/s320/IMG_9267.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Later on, the Presidents (who are people in costumes with giant heads dressed as Presidents Washington, Lincoln, Taft, Roosevelt and Jefferson) did their race around the bases....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uWKr_3GF35M/UikS4dJkNLI/AAAAAAAAEe8/FIu15Qe27H4/s1600/IMG_9276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uWKr_3GF35M/UikS4dJkNLI/AAAAAAAAEe8/FIu15Qe27H4/s320/IMG_9276.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
...and then they got set up after the game so that kids could go down to the field and run the bases. I decided against this little event, and just watched some of the other kids run around the bases and give high fives to the Presidents and the other girls on the field. Who are those girls, anyway? Ballgirls? Helper girls? I'm confused...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AHdFjHiYEeU/UikS6cekpNI/AAAAAAAAEfE/Y_3kvuTh8fk/s1600/IMG_9277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AHdFjHiYEeU/UikS6cekpNI/AAAAAAAAEfE/Y_3kvuTh8fk/s320/IMG_9277.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I thought it was fun to watch the other kids, which was enough for me and we got to watch for awhile while people cleared out, so there wasn't as much of a crush of people as we were headed out. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZyJ4SK4N3H4/UikS8kmvOnI/AAAAAAAAEfM/iRQCQvSryS0/s1600/IMG_9279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZyJ4SK4N3H4/UikS8kmvOnI/AAAAAAAAEfM/iRQCQvSryS0/s320/IMG_9279.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The Colorado Rockies ended up beating The Nationals 7-1, but it was still a wonderful game to watch. I cheered as much as I could, and was bummed that we lost, but it was still fun! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kOeJkCKJovw/UikS9tSoMyI/AAAAAAAAEfY/3c4VDYc9qy8/s1600/IMG_9285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kOeJkCKJovw/UikS9tSoMyI/AAAAAAAAEfY/3c4VDYc9qy8/s320/IMG_9285.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
On the walk back to the car, I got to enjoy some of the scenery around the ballpark. There was a really nice water sculpture along the route which was REALLY calling for me to jump in and cool off....Mom and I waited in the shade while Dad went on ahead to get the car for us....what a great ballgame!<br />

<br />
Easily one of the most fun things of the year was my Fall foray into soccer. Mom and Dad signed me up for a soccer league that was organized by a friend's Mom, and the league included many of my current and former classmates at my pre-school. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lp70-i48ZKA/UliLmp_sdQI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/zdwJidqeoEM/s1600/IMG_9556.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lp70-i48ZKA/UliLmp_sdQI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/zdwJidqeoEM/s320/IMG_9556.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We played a lot of fun games (that sometimes only loosely looked like soccer) that helped develop teamwork and our ability to follow rules. Some of the games seemed silly at first (and they were!) but it was a good way for us kids to burn off some energy, have fun, and learn the importance of rules. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAWKcqdKWmo/UliLl6fq1lI/AAAAAAAAEgE/jzL9YETilcs/s1600/IMG_9558.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAWKcqdKWmo/UliLl6fq1lI/AAAAAAAAEgE/jzL9YETilcs/s320/IMG_9558.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We each had our own ball, shin guards, and t-shirt (which I wear all the time because it is my favorite shirt ever.) and got to play a lot! Our Coaches were great. They had the right balance of encouragement, while also being no-nonsense about having us follow the rules and play the game. (Well, as much as a bunch of 4 and 5 year old could focus on the rules and play the game)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rhxyfsWTswo/UliLlgZ82BI/AAAAAAAAEgI/5ez2zgEl2Jc/s1600/IMG_9559.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rhxyfsWTswo/UliLlgZ82BI/AAAAAAAAEgI/5ez2zgEl2Jc/s320/IMG_9559.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I did pretty well during the various games that we played! I did a good job listening, and had pretty good control of the ball.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_TCLfHM44co/UliLqZAbt4I/AAAAAAAAEgc/bJAM4q05tL4/s1600/IMG_9561.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_TCLfHM44co/UliLqZAbt4I/AAAAAAAAEgc/bJAM4q05tL4/s320/IMG_9561.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I even managed to score a couple goals, and make a few assists during the games where we actually played soccer. I think my favorite part had to be whenever we figured out a loophole in a game....for example, for one game, any time the ball went out of bounds, the coach would throw a new one in...so, we caught on to this pretty quickly, and had a pretty good idea when the ball would go out of bounds, so we would turn and run back to the coaches, knowing that a ball was about to be thrown in, gaining the advantage by getting there first. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Vj39X6zqbBU/UliLqxBaXNI/AAAAAAAAEgg/JCHw71Ln3zY/s1600/IMG_9566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Vj39X6zqbBU/UliLqxBaXNI/AAAAAAAAEgg/JCHw71Ln3zY/s320/IMG_9566.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I had a very good time throughout the season, and only had a few injuries that qualified as the worst injuries that I had ever had. I kept up a pretty good attitude (most of the time) and really missed the games, my coaches, and my teammates once it was over. Hopefully we can do something similar in 2014!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-59670150354376688532013-12-27T17:04:00.000-05:002013-12-27T17:04:00.605-05:00My Last Christmas At The Shoe.This past week before heading up to Connecticut for Christmas, was my last end of the year holiday party at my pre-school. I have had five holiday parties there, and it has always been such a great time. The parents and teachers are great, and always throw a good party, and my friends are always great fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qICz868wH94/Urdyosdz3sI/AAAAAAAAE6M/fEKPaxoQDVo/s1600/IMG_0123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qICz868wH94/Urdyosdz3sI/AAAAAAAAE6M/fEKPaxoQDVo/s320/IMG_0123.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
As we have for our last few parties, we performed a little song and dance number that we worked very hard to learn. It was a lot of fun for the parents to watch, and certainly fun for us to have worked on the last few weeks. The performance was a success and we all really enjoyed ourselves. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ta-n0gmP7A/Urdyl1oCMlI/AAAAAAAAE58/lEjm0J8cJEs/s1600/IMG_0130.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ta-n0gmP7A/Urdyl1oCMlI/AAAAAAAAE58/lEjm0J8cJEs/s320/IMG_0130.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The show was followed by a gift exchange, and I gave a gift to one of my friends, while another <i>different</i> friend gave ME a gift. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zxxOL34Sb-0/Urdyn3lPvLI/AAAAAAAAE6E/FwfTUEeQT2g/s1600/IMG_0133.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zxxOL34Sb-0/Urdyn3lPvLI/AAAAAAAAE6E/FwfTUEeQT2g/s320/IMG_0133.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
When I opened it, I discovered that it was actually a bunch of small
gifts: A large bouncy ball, a funny shaped ball that lights up when you
bounced it, a cookie, and a game called Cheese Chase. SOLID gift...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7I1y-Brvq8A/Urdyp4ybrxI/AAAAAAAAE6Q/C7FrQWX1fPs/s1600/IMG_0136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7I1y-Brvq8A/Urdyp4ybrxI/AAAAAAAAE6Q/C7FrQWX1fPs/s320/IMG_0136.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The gifts were followed by our (as usual) crazy party full of controlled (and sometimes not so controlled) chaos. There was lots of great food to eat, and I made Dad very proud by eating all my pizza (Which I shared with him...) and all my snacks and desserts (Which I ALSO shared with him!) We were pretty full (and more than a little wound up) by the end of the party!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IPVpg2OW6Wg/UrdysN97SaI/AAAAAAAAE6c/em8_tbIACTU/s1600/IMG_0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IPVpg2OW6Wg/UrdysN97SaI/AAAAAAAAE6c/em8_tbIACTU/s320/IMG_0138.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
As things slowly came to a close, I took a few moments in the quiet corner to do a little bit of drawing...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xYfTc6SMIaw/UrdysjvuiVI/AAAAAAAAE6g/fDdwAIrEWUw/s1600/IMG_0141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xYfTc6SMIaw/UrdysjvuiVI/AAAAAAAAE6g/fDdwAIrEWUw/s320/IMG_0141.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I ended up with a very cool picture of a robot riding around, while Dad watches. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eBwUmUbJwp4/Urdyt1s82VI/AAAAAAAAE6s/kwQ_yFeNjRw/s1600/IMG_0144.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eBwUmUbJwp4/Urdyt1s82VI/AAAAAAAAE6s/kwQ_yFeNjRw/s320/IMG_0144.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I think this was a nice way to close out my winter holidays at The Shoe. I will miss it a lot!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-50390346842104948542013-12-26T16:34:00.000-05:002013-12-26T16:34:00.031-05:00The NSO Pops Holiday Concert 2013<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NzkWoImGul0/UrDsluvSGnI/AAAAAAAAEx4/HFH97xEG8a8/s1600/IMAG1856.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NzkWoImGul0/UrDsluvSGnI/AAAAAAAAEx4/HFH97xEG8a8/s320/IMAG1856.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The weekend before we went away to Connecticut, we went out to see a lovely concert by the National Symphony Orchestra. They play a holiday show every year, and it had been some time since Mom and Dad had seen it. They finally figured I was old enough to see the show, so we all went down to The Kennedy Center, an enormous building devoted to the arts (With numerous theaters and performance spaces) It was a very cool building, and I enjoyed running around in it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NIMNlkU0gWQ/UrDslPFPLvI/AAAAAAAAExw/6y10N7b26T4/s1600/IMAG1857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NIMNlkU0gWQ/UrDslPFPLvI/AAAAAAAAExw/6y10N7b26T4/s320/IMAG1857.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Mom got our tickets from Will Call (who sounds like a really nice guy for holding our tickets. Thanks, Will!) and handed them out to us.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ABbfc6YLufA/UrDskw11T3I/AAAAAAAAEx0/DU2w1zgblaM/s1600/IMAG1858.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ABbfc6YLufA/UrDskw11T3I/AAAAAAAAEx0/DU2w1zgblaM/s320/IMAG1858.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Oh...did I tell you that I was going to be making the above face (or similar) for the next two years in every picture I take? Sorry about not informing you sooner...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g8EL3GKhaaI/UrDsnK365RI/AAAAAAAAEyI/YS90EydGLKc/s1600/IMAG1859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g8EL3GKhaaI/UrDsnK365RI/AAAAAAAAEyI/YS90EydGLKc/s320/IMAG1859.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The place has a lot of really cool stuff to look at while you are waiting to go in, and even stuff to see as you walk up to your seats!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Dj9RSrVNLS0/UrDsoL6-ccI/AAAAAAAAEyQ/8t6cD_If7GE/s1600/IMAG1860.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Dj9RSrVNLS0/UrDsoL6-ccI/AAAAAAAAEyQ/8t6cD_If7GE/s320/IMAG1860.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We had a great spot up in the balcony where I could see and hear everything PERFECTLY.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pRisgZtBlVY/UrDsp1FvsJI/AAAAAAAAEyc/Z_WP3qYi81U/s1600/IMAG1862.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pRisgZtBlVY/UrDsp1FvsJI/AAAAAAAAEyc/Z_WP3qYi81U/s320/IMAG1862.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The orchestra sounded lovely, and they played some of my favorite Christmas songs, in addition to some I had never heard before. I loved the new ones, too!.<br />
<br />
The choir that they had up there singing with them was pretty good too, and they had a guy named Brian Stokes Mitchell join in as a guest vocalist for the show, too. He was AMAZING. He had a great sense of humor, and such a wonderful voice. He sang the heck out of The Grinch. SO good.<br />
<br />
As a nice capper to the evening, Santa Clause stopped by for a visit at the end of the show and handed out candy canes while it <i>snowed indoors!! How did they do that?!</i><br />
<br />
Generally I was very excited to be up in the balcony because of how great everything looked and sounded, but when I couldn't get a candy cane from Santa, I was devastated.<br />
<br />
Later, on our way out, I learned that Santa had kindly given little sacks of candy canes to the ushers, and we got some after all! It was a Christmas Miracle!!!<br />

For all your theater nerds out there, don't worry...Dad took all these pics before the show started. :-)The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-78810439336085408002013-12-25T09:21:00.000-05:002013-12-25T09:21:00.388-05:00Merry Christmas 2013!!<div style="text-align: left;">

(Gingerbread Men with Mom AND DAD!)While Dad was at work, Mom and I continued the tradition of making a gingerbread house!<br />
<br />
Mom rolled out the dough, and shaped it into walls and a roof, and we both put it together using icing to hold it together. Using icing as cement is delicious.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--B24j21FwKs/UrdyAK8YHnI/AAAAAAAAE4c/ixgJ-WS7Gmc/s1600/IMG_0116.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--B24j21FwKs/UrdyAK8YHnI/AAAAAAAAE4c/ixgJ-WS7Gmc/s320/IMG_0116.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We used a variety of candies to decorate the house. As Mom and I both love patterns, there was a lot of patterning going on here...do you see it!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8C4D6XlPisU/Urdx_mrx6sI/AAAAAAAAE4U/O4Jk_ZetGNU/s1600/IMG_0117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8C4D6XlPisU/Urdx_mrx6sI/AAAAAAAAE4U/O4Jk_ZetGNU/s320/IMG_0117.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I also convinced Mom that every house should have a smiley face on the roof. She misunderstood me and thought that the Mike n' Ikes and Dots were going to serve as the teeth for the smile, but I wanted an actual icing smile. So, she was able to adjust things so they looked just how we wanted them to!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7Qq0SH1JCjE/Urdx_sR6hVI/AAAAAAAAE4Y/25c4vrYmT-s/s1600/IMG_0118.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7Qq0SH1JCjE/Urdx_sR6hVI/AAAAAAAAE4Y/25c4vrYmT-s/s320/IMG_0118.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We also added hearts to the roof (One for me, one for Mom, and one for Dad!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wSz4Fwjm2OU/UrdyDophN0I/AAAAAAAAE4s/ATrSi61fxn4/s1600/IMG_0119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wSz4Fwjm2OU/UrdyDophN0I/AAAAAAAAE4s/ATrSi61fxn4/s320/IMG_0119.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There was a Christmas tree on the side of the house, with an M&M tree topper (Which must be way more delicious than a star, right?)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NySCsV9dyzo/UrdyGcYvW1I/AAAAAAAAE48/u6wJOK3KOmo/s1600/IMG_0120.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NySCsV9dyzo/UrdyGcYvW1I/AAAAAAAAE48/u6wJOK3KOmo/s320/IMG_0120.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We finished it off with a star, and a little door (How else would one get in and out?) with an M&M as a doorknob. Those M&Ms are pretty versatile.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CI2Bmk5_bws/UrdyETBjP_I/AAAAAAAAE40/FmZSIm_T2h0/s1600/IMG_0121.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CI2Bmk5_bws/UrdyETBjP_I/AAAAAAAAE40/FmZSIm_T2h0/s320/IMG_0121.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
A few days later, we used the leftover dough to make some gingerbread men!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fQUExGhbW8k/UrdyGi33z5I/AAAAAAAAE5A/O7CsXaR53Cs/s1600/IMG_0147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fQUExGhbW8k/UrdyGi33z5I/AAAAAAAAE5A/O7CsXaR53Cs/s320/IMG_0147.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Once again, Mom used the roller to flatten out the dough, and she handed me a little gingerbread man shaped cookie cutter.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nb1EqBORrDs/UrdyJdM-MPI/AAAAAAAAE5M/qWcBDEZJX-A/s1600/IMG_0148.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nb1EqBORrDs/UrdyJdM-MPI/AAAAAAAAE5M/qWcBDEZJX-A/s320/IMG_0148.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I pressed it down nice and hard, wiggled the cutter a bit, and then we peeled off the leftover pieces. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QpqGzyayGcI/UrdyLo8o7oI/AAAAAAAAE5c/Oqv-vSMpEuA/s1600/IMG_0150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QpqGzyayGcI/UrdyLo8o7oI/AAAAAAAAE5c/Oqv-vSMpEuA/s320/IMG_0150.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I added eyes and nose (Also with the ever present M&Ms....have I mentioned that they are delicious, as well as being a reliable decorative tool) We popped the little guys into the oven, baked them and VOILA!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mkxMbCa9Avg/UrdyPMMp-7I/AAAAAAAAE5s/b6o9leUVxzQ/s1600/IMG_0155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mkxMbCa9Avg/UrdyPMMp-7I/AAAAAAAAE5s/b6o9leUVxzQ/s320/IMG_0155.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Gingerbread men!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij4P3b-qb9w/UrdyJzEW30I/AAAAAAAAE5Q/s_f7wdU-yyE/s1600/IMG_0152.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij4P3b-qb9w/UrdyJzEW30I/AAAAAAAAE5Q/s_f7wdU-yyE/s320/IMG_0152.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I decorated one of the gingerbread men with frosting, and ate him right up!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tnPsRy00GCs/UrdyPGlGoqI/AAAAAAAAE5w/HAxFHbO7Lfg/s1600/IMG_0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tnPsRy00GCs/UrdyPGlGoqI/AAAAAAAAE5w/HAxFHbO7Lfg/s320/IMG_0153.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
He was totally delicious....easily one of the best tasting treat of this delicious holiday season! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FqvNAo0FZ8g/UrdyNrDInpI/AAAAAAAAE5k/dZ1H_b5oZZQ/s1600/IMG_0154.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FqvNAo0FZ8g/UrdyNrDInpI/AAAAAAAAE5k/dZ1H_b5oZZQ/s320/IMG_0154.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Mom said "Alright, Miley Cyrus" when I kept sticking my tongue out...what does <i>that</i> mean?!<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XEKeXmEdibE/Uquls79nTrI/AAAAAAAAEwQ/YSJkB-D4-f0/s1600/IMG_0092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XEKeXmEdibE/Uquls79nTrI/AAAAAAAAEwQ/YSJkB-D4-f0/s1600/IMG_0092.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This year, it seems like we have even more decorations than usual! Gramma Mindy got us an advent calendar so we can count down the days until Christmas. The calendar comes in the form of a large book-shaped case that contains 24 smaller books. You pull out one per day, and then read from the little books to learn the story of the birth of Jesus. The little books also double as Christmas tree ornaments. Very cool.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K0OYIZtT9k0/UqulsO19YVI/AAAAAAAAEwI/8lch7iNSGl8/s1600/IMG_0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K0OYIZtT9k0/UqulsO19YVI/AAAAAAAAEwI/8lch7iNSGl8/s1600/IMG_0094.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Mom and Dad also got a Playmobil advent calendar on sale at the end of Christmas last year, so I get to open them this year! Each little door opens to reveal a Playmobil toy. You put them all together to create a little woodland scene. There are lots of animals, trees, food for the animals, and of course Santa Claus and an angel (which are two of my favorites!)<br />
<br />
When we went to get Gramma Mindy's Christmas tree, we also picked out a nice wreath for our apartment door! I picked it out, because I loved the color so much. One of the bulbs had fallen off, so I made sure to tell the lady that had rung us out that I was a better bulb gluer than anyone else. I'm sure she appreciated that.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ow-6eHaxoI0/UpyrVEPuUCI/AAAAAAAAEuI/D8MY9MBromM/s1600/IMG_0088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ow-6eHaxoI0/UpyrVEPuUCI/AAAAAAAAEuI/D8MY9MBromM/s320/IMG_0088.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We arrived home and Dad and I hung the wreath on our door (after we fixed the bulb, of course) He got the little stool out so I could help him lift it up to position it in just the right spot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zYXGOP11d_I/UpyrVVYhu-I/AAAAAAAAEuM/qUCVvPoofzs/s1600/IMG_0090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zYXGOP11d_I/UpyrVVYhu-I/AAAAAAAAEuM/qUCVvPoofzs/s320/IMG_0090.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I think that with the color scheme of our building, and the general beauty of the wreath, it all looks really nice, wouldn't you say?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_Z1ac9Lhxnc/UpyrV3zG5SI/AAAAAAAAEuQ/nf1SPHukrrM/s1600/IMG_0091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_Z1ac9Lhxnc/UpyrV3zG5SI/AAAAAAAAEuQ/nf1SPHukrrM/s320/IMG_0091.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We went out to get a Christmas tree at our usual lot, and Mom and I got to put the lights on it when we got home! We worked very carefully to make sure they all fit, and were spaced out nicely. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cu5fAsOc11Y/UqulrPf1xWI/AAAAAAAAEwE/spcU06LFLjs/s1600/IMG_0110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cu5fAsOc11Y/UqulrPf1xWI/AAAAAAAAEwE/spcU06LFLjs/s1600/IMG_0110.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Over the course of the last few weeks, we put a bunch of ornaments on the tree, some we had been given as gifts, some we had bought when we went to visit cool places like the National Aquarium, or Mount Vernon (Which Dad went to on his own) or Hawaii (which Mom went to on her own) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3Of-jzZV8Ag/UquluigSHbI/AAAAAAAAEwc/SmUq59us2_s/s1600/IMG_0115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3Of-jzZV8Ag/UquluigSHbI/AAAAAAAAEwc/SmUq59us2_s/s1600/IMG_0115.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We also put lots of jelly decorations up on our glass entertainment center doors, cutout snow men, and other Christmas figures throughout the apartment. It all ended up looking very festive!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-57184210801966719872013-12-17T15:52:00.003-05:002013-12-17T15:52:34.025-05:00Sledding with the big kids!!Well...it's nothing like the snow my family up North gets, but we did get enough snow to play in last weekend, so I was CERTAINLY going to take advantage of it!<br />
<br />
I got all dressed up in my warm winter wear, and went outside to play with Dad for awhile. I made snow angels, dug in the snow with my shovel, had a few snowball fights, and generally had a great time out in the snow!<br />
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-klxLGmtJIIQ/Uqq-5Dk331I/AAAAAAAAEuw/cvvO981rvPc/s1600/IMAG1840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-klxLGmtJIIQ/Uqq-5Dk331I/AAAAAAAAEuw/cvvO981rvPc/s320/IMAG1840.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I went ahead and dipped my hands into a slush puddle, so Dad had to take me inside to change them...on the way in, a nice guy with his even nice kid walked by and said they were going sledding, and wanted to know if I wanted to come...DID I EVER!? Technically, Gramma Debbie had helped me enjoy my first sledding experience in Connecticut, which <a href="http://thepgdot.blogspot.com/2013/06/winter-flashback-visit-to-gramma.html" target="_blank">I LOVED</a>...but this was my first time heading to a big hill!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cZ9fagF4dTY/Uqq-4242ElI/AAAAAAAAEuo/z1fsixUGc0Q/s1600/IMAG1842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cZ9fagF4dTY/Uqq-4242ElI/AAAAAAAAEuo/z1fsixUGc0Q/s320/IMAG1842.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We went inside to change gloves, and then joined them over at the high school across the street, where there was a great hill to sled down. The kids were really nice and let me borrow one of their sleds...I was hesitant at first, but then went down a small hill once with Dad...after that I upgraded IMMEDIATELY to the big hill by myself! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xJAw-qoum_M/Uqq-5C84CcI/AAAAAAAAEus/iYHp8gSTSAs/s1600/IMAG1843.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xJAw-qoum_M/Uqq-5C84CcI/AAAAAAAAEus/iYHp8gSTSAs/s320/IMAG1843.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I went down a BUNCH of times! Dad helped me bring the sled up to the top of the slippery hill, and I kept going down again!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xD0awZucnZw/Uqq-80-VOHI/AAAAAAAAEvI/gC9oCpDFPC4/s1600/IMAG1844.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xD0awZucnZw/Uqq-80-VOHI/AAAAAAAAEvI/gC9oCpDFPC4/s320/IMAG1844.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
It was really great, and I was having SO much fun sledding with the other kids while Dad watched...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WdtOKmTeQhI/Uqq-85n5bSI/AAAAAAAAEvE/S_TWFGQ6ljs/s1600/IMAG1845.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WdtOKmTeQhI/Uqq-85n5bSI/AAAAAAAAEvE/S_TWFGQ6ljs/s320/IMAG1845.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Out of nowhere, an impromptu snowball fight started, and not only did I hold my own with the older kids, but I got a few good hits in there myself! They were so great to have included me in their games, and also to not be too rough with the little guy...I think they softened some of those snowball throws for me, but they didn't go <i>too</i> easy on me...I got hit plenty! And it was AWESOME!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mewvpIvYY-o/Uqq-8xhcWhI/AAAAAAAAEvA/JATtfI6FkdE/s1600/IMAG1846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mewvpIvYY-o/Uqq-8xhcWhI/AAAAAAAAEvA/JATtfI6FkdE/s320/IMAG1846.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
(I'm the little guy on the right, by the way)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JlDpild7NYQ/Uqq--2w09eI/AAAAAAAAEvY/RaIHFjdlj7Y/s1600/IMAG1848.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JlDpild7NYQ/Uqq--2w09eI/AAAAAAAAEvY/RaIHFjdlj7Y/s320/IMAG1848.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We just ran around until the sun crept down below the horizon, and it started getting too dark (and cold) to keep playing...so we got ready to head in...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WKITNZc2qeE/Uqq-_iyX9UI/AAAAAAAAEvc/RokXvA4zrdM/s1600/IMAG1850.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WKITNZc2qeE/Uqq-_iyX9UI/AAAAAAAAEvc/RokXvA4zrdM/s320/IMAG1850.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
But not before I got a few more good throws in! In this cynical world, I love that we just met a couple random people from my building, who shared their sled with us, and let me play with them. It made me feel like the best combination of being a little kid, but kind of a big kid as well! There are still great people out there!<br />
<br />
And there are definitely great snowball fights to be had! The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-24344734568014479232013-12-15T09:06:00.002-05:002013-12-15T09:06:35.976-05:00Christmas Trolley Ride 2013We tried something different and fun this year...Aunt Mallory and Uncle Mat had a Groupon to visit the East Haven Trolley Museum, where they were doing a special event for the holidays!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b89bjSVJ6wU/UpyoQW2vwdI/AAAAAAAAEtc/IIcoHKVUnEs/s1600/IMG_0063.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b89bjSVJ6wU/UpyoQW2vwdI/AAAAAAAAEtc/IIcoHKVUnEs/s320/IMG_0063.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
A real olde Tyme trolley pulled up, and we all got to get on it! We had perfect timing, as we got our tickets right as the next one was leaving. I hadn't seen hot chocolate yet, but was told that there was hot chocolate on the premises. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mrZxNtEEZbY/Upyn5yRPkTI/AAAAAAAAErk/L_0Ja5VYtGk/s1600/IMG_0024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mrZxNtEEZbY/Upyn5yRPkTI/AAAAAAAAErk/L_0Ja5VYtGk/s320/IMG_0024.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Onboard the trolley, we all got comfy, and got ready to enjoy the trip back in time through the woods of East Haven Connecticut. The tracks were embedded in the road, and the wire ran overhead, just like they did back in the day. The back of the seats slid forward and back so you could face the way the trolley was moving which was really cool.<br />
<br />
The trolley was decorated for the holidays, which was really nice (but no hot chocolate yet)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ghzbsO9hC38/Upyn5TqQ-PI/AAAAAAAAErc/hkhPQALdGig/s1600/IMG_0026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ghzbsO9hC38/Upyn5TqQ-PI/AAAAAAAAErc/hkhPQALdGig/s320/IMG_0026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And featured not only ads from yesteryear...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sXgQsYhMS8I/UpyoOicZUsI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/5-mE5uFXhfU/s1600/IMG_0060.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sXgQsYhMS8I/UpyoOicZUsI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/5-mE5uFXhfU/s320/IMG_0060.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
...but a conductor that was literally plucked from the past! Look at this guy! He was amazing!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lL7w6CjyX8g/Upyn83IpUlI/AAAAAAAAEr0/IT2G474H3x0/s1600/IMG_0032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lL7w6CjyX8g/Upyn83IpUlI/AAAAAAAAEr0/IT2G474H3x0/s320/IMG_0032.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We had some time to be silly on the trolley as we drove back to the little winter wonderland that they had set up for us...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ox0CQDO4FG8/Upyn5ATMMeI/AAAAAAAAErg/WyTNuDpKSTc/s1600/IMG_0028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ox0CQDO4FG8/Upyn5ATMMeI/AAAAAAAAErg/WyTNuDpKSTc/s320/IMG_0028.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
When we got to the other side of the trolley yard, we saw that all the trolleys that they had were decorated for the holidays, both outside...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I6kGRHEdBGY/Upyn99XxApI/AAAAAAAAEr4/jwkpUL0juFw/s1600/IMG_0033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I6kGRHEdBGY/Upyn99XxApI/AAAAAAAAEr4/jwkpUL0juFw/s320/IMG_0033.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
...and inside!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Huzjf3-KogE/UpyoAm1UTeI/AAAAAAAAEsE/86C4h0o_olQ/s1600/IMG_0034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Huzjf3-KogE/UpyoAm1UTeI/AAAAAAAAEsE/86C4h0o_olQ/s320/IMG_0034.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This little penguin guy was great! He welcome us to one of the trolleys...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pqMs0DwqXQM/UpyoAlFcHKI/AAAAAAAAEsI/TxtmIJPiick/s1600/IMG_0037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pqMs0DwqXQM/UpyoAlFcHKI/AAAAAAAAEsI/TxtmIJPiick/s320/IMG_0037.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
...which was filled with an amazing train set! (But no hot chocolate)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Iof4QiabrUc/UpyoChY9x8I/AAAAAAAAEsU/e98l0o4e9A0/s1600/IMG_0038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Iof4QiabrUc/UpyoChY9x8I/AAAAAAAAEsU/e98l0o4e9A0/s320/IMG_0038.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
There were three trains running on several tracks, and of course one had a Thomas engine at the front!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pVVgCEWcCpE/UpyoHJy-8yI/AAAAAAAAEso/kJzbTJcSuHk/s1600/IMG_0040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pVVgCEWcCpE/UpyoHJy-8yI/AAAAAAAAEso/kJzbTJcSuHk/s320/IMG_0040.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There was even a pre-determined place where the train was designed to take a break at a station, which was really cool to watch!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--RSrtLaJgSM/UpyoFK28_yI/AAAAAAAAEsc/3jQO5lUbKtQ/s1600/IMG_0041.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--RSrtLaJgSM/UpyoFK28_yI/AAAAAAAAEsc/3jQO5lUbKtQ/s320/IMG_0041.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Ha! Finally! Jackpot! Not only was there hot chocolate, but there was cookies too! Score!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-URZijesp3gw/UpyoG48fUtI/AAAAAAAAEsk/3ONNHiLFUkA/s1600/IMG_0044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-URZijesp3gw/UpyoG48fUtI/AAAAAAAAEsk/3ONNHiLFUkA/s320/IMG_0044.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We ended up at the final train that had Santa waiting for us.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jW8CdSBjZRI/UpyoJFQiuyI/AAAAAAAAEs0/viya8Zp0Tic/s1600/IMG_0045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jW8CdSBjZRI/UpyoJFQiuyI/AAAAAAAAEs0/viya8Zp0Tic/s320/IMG_0045.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
He and I had a nice conversation before all the other kids found him, and I told him I wanted a robot that gave out cookies and said "Cookie Party! Cookie Party!" This toy doesn't exist or anything like that, I just figured that since it was something that seemed interesting to me in my brain (after I made it up) that I should be able to get one. Totally reasonable, right?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RfSxhToWgOY/UpyoK0FFtAI/AAAAAAAAEs8/x4X6A0ueHRw/s1600/IMG_0050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RfSxhToWgOY/UpyoK0FFtAI/AAAAAAAAEs8/x4X6A0ueHRw/s320/IMG_0050.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Santa was pretty sly in looking at the camera during a moment where I was both standing up and also standing relatively still.It was a nice visit!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q_y5G81pco8/UpyoNjLiwwI/AAAAAAAAEtI/TtycqLpUI1c/s1600/IMG_0054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q_y5G81pco8/UpyoNjLiwwI/AAAAAAAAEtI/TtycqLpUI1c/s320/IMG_0054.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Uncle Mat helped me drive one of the trolleys (or pretend to)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-apE8kGsbZnM/UpyoM0z1N0I/AAAAAAAAEtE/pKtKan4S2nU/s1600/IMG_0058.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-apE8kGsbZnM/UpyoM0z1N0I/AAAAAAAAEtE/pKtKan4S2nU/s320/IMG_0058.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
and Aunt Mallory and Gramma Mindy made a nice audience for when Monkey and I were feeling particularly silly.<br />
<br />
It was finally time to hop on the trolley and ride it back into 2013...where we ended up at the museum part of the evening!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LkqTJ_cJkCo/UpyoS3nAreI/AAAAAAAAEto/KA3LvYi0z2k/s1600/IMG_0076.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LkqTJ_cJkCo/UpyoS3nAreI/AAAAAAAAEto/KA3LvYi0z2k/s320/IMG_0076.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Mom and I looked at some different exhibits including one where you pulled a cord to simulate taking someone's fare for the trolley...it switched the big numbers in the display case!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FCozfFVV--k/UpyoS9JcWrI/AAAAAAAAEtk/X3ow6kLupAk/s1600/IMG_0082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FCozfFVV--k/UpyoS9JcWrI/AAAAAAAAEtk/X3ow6kLupAk/s320/IMG_0082.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And also turning a crank to generate electricity! A little lightbulb lit up...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ff1L77cjUbU/UpyoT3hz54I/AAAAAAAAEt0/VXSyifuiHSg/s1600/IMG_0084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ff1L77cjUbU/UpyoT3hz54I/AAAAAAAAEt0/VXSyifuiHSg/s320/IMG_0084.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
...and a tiny trolley moved down the tracks...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W7vPY6oAfQU/UpyoVOyLpaI/AAAAAAAAEt8/eIV3IdB9ZWk/s1600/IMG_0087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W7vPY6oAfQU/UpyoVOyLpaI/AAAAAAAAEt8/eIV3IdB9ZWk/s320/IMG_0087.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We finished up the evening relaxing on the couch while I played some iPod games...it was truly a lovely little family outing. Thanks Aunt Mallory and Uncle Mat for taking us!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-13787424790033113482013-12-02T16:03:00.002-05:002013-12-02T16:03:10.123-05:00Getting a Christmas Tree with the Pellegrinos 2013!It was a busy weekend in Connecticut for Thanksgiving this year! As always, we did a lot of driving (my poor Mom had such a long drive on the way there!) and got to have Thanksgiving dinner at both of my Grammas houses....we spent so much time eating and hanging out with family, that I didn't get any pics, but know that it was a blast!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pJvtlzcayYc/UpyhjLKq49I/AAAAAAAAEqQ/uO37BXGRRzc/s1600/IMG_0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pJvtlzcayYc/UpyhjLKq49I/AAAAAAAAEqQ/uO37BXGRRzc/s320/IMG_0001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The day after Thanksgiving saw us heading out to the Christmas Tree Farm just like we did <a href="http://thepgdot.blogspot.com/2012/12/getting-gramma-mindys-christmas-tree.html" target="_blank">last year</a>. This year, it was Uncle Mat, Aunt Mallory, Mom, Dad and Gramma Mindy that went out to the Farm! <br />
<br />
As is tradition, we played a lot of hide and seek....first Mom and I ran off for Dad to find us... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9afr6JewJJE/Upyhis3p-wI/AAAAAAAAEqM/9xrKxjepANE/s1600/IMG_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9afr6JewJJE/Upyhis3p-wI/AAAAAAAAEqM/9xrKxjepANE/s320/IMG_0002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Yeah...that's right....you can't even see me!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VS4CwjjDW0U/UpyhiiMWiHI/AAAAAAAAEqI/Af8YmJN9uAQ/s1600/IMG_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VS4CwjjDW0U/UpyhiiMWiHI/AAAAAAAAEqI/Af8YmJN9uAQ/s320/IMG_0005.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Then, Aunt Mallory joined my team, and we did some running around and hiding in the rows and rows of trees!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6KJBQOKSXiw/UpyhoyyTNPI/AAAAAAAAEqk/JC3IAqTKu8g/s1600/IMG_0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6KJBQOKSXiw/UpyhoyyTNPI/AAAAAAAAEqk/JC3IAqTKu8g/s320/IMG_0008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Finally it was time for us to pick a tree, and everyone found one that we all really liked for Gramma Mindy's house. I came and gave the final thumbs up, and it was up to Uncle Mat to get the cutting started!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgfRa63BYW8/UpyhnjoftCI/AAAAAAAAEqc/W5FuYSgJ8Lg/s1600/IMG_0009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgfRa63BYW8/UpyhnjoftCI/AAAAAAAAEqc/W5FuYSgJ8Lg/s320/IMG_0009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I kept an eye on the proceedings, and he did a great job.<br />
<br />
Aunt Mallory got in there for a little while to help with cutting the tree down, and I not only encouraged her, but offered tips on the best way to saw the tree down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WIwqCvJuwgk/UpyhsFY8eMI/AAAAAAAAEqw/hmlgXDbY-wg/s1600/IMG_0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WIwqCvJuwgk/UpyhsFY8eMI/AAAAAAAAEqw/hmlgXDbY-wg/s320/IMG_0013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally, she swapped off with Uncle Mat again, and with Dad's help, we got the tree down!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YLhPupd7NQc/UpyhoyOHDQI/AAAAAAAAEqo/CqOeznUIRdg/s1600/IMG_0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YLhPupd7NQc/UpyhoyOHDQI/AAAAAAAAEqo/CqOeznUIRdg/s320/IMG_0010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Once the tree was down, I helped Dad trim the bottom so that it would fit perfectly in Gramma Mindy's house!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jk0kpFYSRKI/UpyhuHnkCOI/AAAAAAAAEq8/0WW6YbH5LDY/s1600/IMG_0018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jk0kpFYSRKI/UpyhuHnkCOI/AAAAAAAAEq8/0WW6YbH5LDY/s320/IMG_0018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Of course, any farm worth its salt had something for kids to do, and this one had a little playground! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T6dCD7jEtdc/Upyhu7whMwI/AAAAAAAAErE/YsZNyOftEtg/s1600/IMG_0019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T6dCD7jEtdc/Upyhu7whMwI/AAAAAAAAErE/YsZNyOftEtg/s320/IMG_0019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I got to go on the slide, and climb the climbing wall for a little while, while we were getting ready to checkout, and while Gramma Mindy bought her Christmas tree!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zU-IENWM0ao/UpyhvfW_vXI/AAAAAAAAErM/o51KbdOa_r8/s1600/IMG_0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zU-IENWM0ao/UpyhvfW_vXI/AAAAAAAAErM/o51KbdOa_r8/s320/IMG_0021.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The Pellegrino-Grants also got themselves a wreath to take back to Maryland with them, and I made sure to tell the person who checked us out at the register that a bulb had fallen off the wreath, and that I picked it even with this slight deficiency in craftsmanship...I also made sure to tell her what a better gluer of bulbs I was than them...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0UhIq4RjgOY/UpyhwV_mP6I/AAAAAAAAErQ/sJjDK8ax9QM/s1600/IMG_0022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0UhIq4RjgOY/UpyhwV_mP6I/AAAAAAAAErQ/sJjDK8ax9QM/s320/IMG_0022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The guys at the farm tied Gramma Mindy's tree to the top of Uncle Mat and Aunt Mallory's car so we could take it back to the house and put it up!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-11778419012267308302013-11-22T14:42:00.001-05:002013-11-22T14:42:13.344-05:00Pre-School Graduation 2013!Now that we are deep into Fall (and into my final year of pre-school!) I figured I'd take advantage of the bit of down time we have to finish catching everyone up on the rest of 2013 before we head into the busy holidays (and of course, 2014!)<br />
<br />
So...since I mentioned school, it only makes sense that we talk about my graduation from my first year of preschool into my second year of preschool. For many of my friends, it was a graduation from preschool into kindergarten, but since I was born so late in the year, I missed the kindergarten cutoff, and had to stay at The Shoe for one more year.<br />
<br />
The stage was set for a lovely event. Our talented teachers and parents decorated a conference room upstairs in the office building that our school is located in, and it looked REALLY good! Of course, we got to help! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NHKq1opjghI/UbVk0skJlwI/AAAAAAAAEWk/4OluTSwNWPI/s1600/IMG_9147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NHKq1opjghI/UbVk0skJlwI/AAAAAAAAEWk/4OluTSwNWPI/s320/IMG_9147.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We walked in to a song called "Pomp and Circumstance" and most of us wore green graduation caps, just like the big kids!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8NZEr7TK9HU/UbVk1kHxbbI/AAAAAAAAEW0/87x-cUEEjlI/s1600/IMG_9149.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8NZEr7TK9HU/UbVk1kHxbbI/AAAAAAAAEW0/87x-cUEEjlI/s320/IMG_9149.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I was one of the kids that welcomed the parents and friends to the event! Me and some of my friends stood up and did our clapping song ("If you're ready give me three claps..." followed by us getting everyone to clap three times, all the way up to ten claps...and then we bowed to the applause of our adoring guests...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-969LQ6cL1UA/UbVk1B7WQ8I/AAAAAAAAEWs/5fIgATtCjQU/s1600/IMG_9154.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-969LQ6cL1UA/UbVk1B7WQ8I/AAAAAAAAEWs/5fIgATtCjQU/s320/IMG_9154.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We also performed a few songs that we had learned and performed over the school year at events like the Holiday Party, and the Halloween Party....in addition, we performed a new one that we rehearsed JUST for this graduation!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ndyAJ1pWS4I/UbVk14V1a7I/AAAAAAAAEW4/0fl-BvwCUhk/s1600/IMG_9165.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ndyAJ1pWS4I/UbVk14V1a7I/AAAAAAAAEW4/0fl-BvwCUhk/s320/IMG_9165.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
They called our names, and we all got to go up and get our little diplomas...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ppJsgfeAt20/UbVk2TYM0yI/AAAAAAAAEXE/MQ9adHza86g/s1600/IMG_9176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ppJsgfeAt20/UbVk2TYM0yI/AAAAAAAAEXE/MQ9adHza86g/s320/IMG_9176.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And at the end of the ceremony, again, just like the big kids, we threw our hats up in the air to celebrate! How cool is THAT!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gfVF3EMCx94/UbVk2mG8lzI/AAAAAAAAEXI/dfmjHCsjEpg/s1600/IMG_9185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gfVF3EMCx94/UbVk2mG8lzI/AAAAAAAAEXI/dfmjHCsjEpg/s320/IMG_9185.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I did a really great job, and was so proud of not only the celebration we had today, but all the work I did to get here. I had a lot of fun, and learned a ton over the school year, and can't WAIT to see what this next year has to offer me!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-6095231010781511602013-11-13T10:37:00.002-05:002013-11-13T10:37:31.336-05:00My new Woody Doll!A month or two ago, Mom and Dad started a job chart for me!<br />
It served two purposes....one, it helped me to have a sense of responsibility for doing things around the apartment, keeping a schedule, and for having a better attitude about things in general. Two, it helped me to learn the value of earning something that I wanted, in this case it was a Woody the Cowboy doll from Toy Story!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Rp9itEe8fws/UnPoUy7yF2I/AAAAAAAAEnM/-nnvJdiVrm0/s1600/IMG_9898.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Rp9itEe8fws/UnPoUy7yF2I/AAAAAAAAEnM/-nnvJdiVrm0/s320/IMG_9898.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Mom and Dad created a job chart for me...I had enough jobs so as not to be overwhelming, but enough to keep me busy, and to keep it challenging...my jobs were kept simple, but important. Moving from the left, my jobs were to be in bed by 8:30pm, do a good job listening, not be grouchy for no good reason, put my shoes and socks away when I get home, and put my dishes in the sink when I was done with them. Woody sat at the bottom, helping to give me an incentive! Every day we went through the list and checked to see which ones I had done...if I did them, I got a star (which <i>*I*</i> got to put on my job chart) <br />
<br />
Well, I finally finished the chore list! Some were harder than others (The last ones I finished were the 8:30 one, and the listening....) but even after my chart was done, I still do a pretty good job with the chores I was doing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7OMYhKhvqaA/UnPoP6rI_VI/AAAAAAAAEnA/YAnl9-FYCR4/s1600/IMAG1663.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7OMYhKhvqaA/UnPoP6rI_VI/AAAAAAAAEnA/YAnl9-FYCR4/s320/IMAG1663.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
So, with some help of a couple remaining Christmas 2012 gift cards, we went to Toys R Us to get a Woody the Cowboy doll, just like my Buzz Lightyear!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pDL7J_Nxbbg/UnPoPsML3BI/AAAAAAAAEm4/gMNy8y2xdrM/s1600/IMAG1668.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pDL7J_Nxbbg/UnPoPsML3BI/AAAAAAAAEm4/gMNy8y2xdrM/s320/IMAG1668.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The adventures started as soon as I got home! Dad helped build a blanket fort, and using a flickering pretend candle, Woody and I had a blast! I introduced him to my other toys, and jumped right into playing!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_HBYFZoi2XA/UnPoOn3HeiI/AAAAAAAAEm0/9CBnbljD86k/s1600/IMAG1670-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_HBYFZoi2XA/UnPoOn3HeiI/AAAAAAAAEm0/9CBnbljD86k/s320/IMAG1670-1.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
<br />
Obviously he and Buzz get along pretty well already....look at the two of them goofing around!! I LOVE my Woody doll! I'm so proud of the fact that I earned it through my chore list! The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-81425709882060150582013-11-11T11:23:00.004-05:002013-11-12T20:00:55.242-05:00Boo at the Zoo 2013!We're jumping around a bit, but the final piece in the Halloween celebration puzzle this year is Boo at the Zoo! You get to go to the Zoo at nighttime, dress in your costume, and walk around the zoo! You see the animals at night when no one really ever gets to see them, and there are lots of places to go trick or treating to get candy, chips, and other great snacks!<br />
<br />
One of the best things about it was that I got to go with Mom Dad AND JustRichy, who was still in town! He was terrified of my skeeeelllleeetttoooon costume!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Dksg9Edyx7E/UnPmbRZzmaI/AAAAAAAAElk/tjauUJYR_dQ/s1600/IMG_9827.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Dksg9Edyx7E/UnPmbRZzmaI/AAAAAAAAElk/tjauUJYR_dQ/s320/IMG_9827.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Mom also got in on the fear action while we were walking around!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0zTsmZYIRJ8/UnPmYbhcdxI/AAAAAAAAElY/yLfu7uZaJkY/s1600/IMG_9832.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0zTsmZYIRJ8/UnPmYbhcdxI/AAAAAAAAElY/yLfu7uZaJkY/s320/IMG_9832.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Some of the stands had tasks to complete (One stand had you digging through birdseed or something to find little spiders, which you then traded in for candy) whereas other stands just needed a solid "Trick or Treat" to get something great!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qjt5TTaJMmA/Unw3rrHSSKI/AAAAAAAAEpo/Ul7eUgMvwQU/s1600/IMG_9833.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qjt5TTaJMmA/Unw3rrHSSKI/AAAAAAAAEpo/Ul7eUgMvwQU/s320/IMG_9833.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I got to walk around the zoo, and lead our ragtag group from place to place...we got to see lots of animals, too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HzM9N_u-OD8/Unw3rkKY7LI/AAAAAAAAEpg/sPb8nlFhDoM/s1600/IMG_9834.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HzM9N_u-OD8/Unw3rkKY7LI/AAAAAAAAEpg/sPb8nlFhDoM/s320/IMG_9834.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside the bird house, there was a learning center devoted to the owl...you could pick up a nut cracker and use it to crack nuts, to get a feel for how strong an owl's beak was!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lvfgp7spzVI/Unw3qa8qGRI/AAAAAAAAEpc/R5I5Tvuqskc/s1600/IMG_9838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lvfgp7spzVI/Unw3qa8qGRI/AAAAAAAAEpc/R5I5Tvuqskc/s320/IMG_9838.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the way to the bird house, we got to see one of the numerous displays at the zoo. This one featured skeletons as pirates! Two of my favorite things mashed together!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_CIwAYClDw/UnPmYIDR4LI/AAAAAAAAElU/5eyuPTSthfk/s1600/IMG_9841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_CIwAYClDw/UnPmYIDR4LI/AAAAAAAAElU/5eyuPTSthfk/s320/IMG_9841.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
These skeletons were in a hair salon and one was giving the other a haircut which was HILARIOUS....I mean, even skeletons need haircuts, right?<br />
<br />
Or maybe the display was just sponsored by Hair Cuttery. :-)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oApQ_zJlQOk/UnPmdNOS9DI/AAAAAAAAEls/DeGd1NUFv4s/s1600/IMG_9843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oApQ_zJlQOk/UnPmdNOS9DI/AAAAAAAAEls/DeGd1NUFv4s/s320/IMG_9843.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We met up with my friend Max and his family (Max is the blue power ranger, and his little brother is the red one!) and we got to run around trick or treating and seeing the zoo together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ziKMFoRDJzM/UnPmjoK6U7I/AAAAAAAAEmI/Vb-yD9EOUU4/s1600/IMG_9858.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ziKMFoRDJzM/UnPmjoK6U7I/AAAAAAAAEmI/Vb-yD9EOUU4/s320/IMG_9858.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We got to see the elephants in their gorgeous. brand new indoor home (I've posted pics of the outdoor section of their home before...click <a href="http://thepgdot.blogspot.com/2010/09/zoo-elephants.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> if you want to see those....) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yi5M91QSRNg/UnPmfSwieLI/AAAAAAAAEl0/dAKdJE1PKh8/s1600/IMG_9845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yi5M91QSRNg/UnPmfSwieLI/AAAAAAAAEl0/dAKdJE1PKh8/s320/IMG_9845.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We got to play "Find the animals" in a lot of their cages, which was fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FRs4R0DKQ7g/UnPmf1sonFI/AAAAAAAAEl4/33f2psU7vg8/s1600/IMG_9853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FRs4R0DKQ7g/UnPmf1sonFI/AAAAAAAAEl4/33f2psU7vg8/s320/IMG_9853.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We made our way to the carousel, and I got to ride with Max, his brother, his Dad, and My Dad....at first, I was really worried about riding on the animals that go up and down, since I've always been afraid of them...I would always rather sit in the little ornately decorated benches...I don't know what it was this time, whether I was trying to be brave since my friend was there, or the adrenaline of the evening, but I got on my first "up and down" animal on a carousel (It was an armadillo) and was THRILLED. I even surprised myself by yelling "Dad! I'm doing it! I'm riding a carousel for the first time!!!" It was amazing....Dad was so proud of me. And Mom was shocked when she saw us riding around (She skipped the ride, but was thrilled to see me doing it!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2RAih90CpiA/UnPnT29v--I/AAAAAAAAEmo/-wCBhYdcKF0/s1600/Sam+and+Dad+on+the+Carousel.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2RAih90CpiA/UnPnT29v--I/AAAAAAAAEmo/-wCBhYdcKF0/s320/Sam+and+Dad+on+the+Carousel.jpeg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
Look at this display! THAT skeleton is in the tub and THAT one is on the potty...THAT is GREAT!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LQeetara5cE/UnPmjlYbjsI/AAAAAAAAEmE/pzLSAa0IzIY/s1600/IMG_9864.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LQeetara5cE/UnPmjlYbjsI/AAAAAAAAEmE/pzLSAa0IzIY/s320/IMG_9864.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Max and I heartily debated whether or not that bat-shaped light was a Batman bat symbol or not...we agreed to disagree.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-klXJAVYKgBs/UnPmkXLZ_LI/AAAAAAAAEmM/hmZ5sfPXTC4/s1600/IMG_9872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-klXJAVYKgBs/UnPmkXLZ_LI/AAAAAAAAEmM/hmZ5sfPXTC4/s320/IMG_9872.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
On the way out we saw these spooky ghost ladies dancing to the spooky music...it was a nice capper to a very fun, yet very exhausting evening...I hope we get to go again next year!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

That meant he got to join us on some Fall activities!<br />
<br />
We went out to Greenstreet Farms to do their Fall Festival...I was a little grumpy for part of the day, but managed to rally and have a good time!<br />
<br />
First we got to go on a hay ride through a spooky trail! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4xdZePdJ7yk/UnPlIeVhzgI/AAAAAAAAEjk/ovlpYUvIdbU/s1600/IMG_9783.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4xdZePdJ7yk/UnPlIeVhzgI/AAAAAAAAEjk/ovlpYUvIdbU/s320/IMG_9783.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Above you can see some of the bats flying overhead. Spooooky, right!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VUDqHzM4AGM/UnPlDvyZV1I/AAAAAAAAEjc/b_Dg9FoXHcI/s1600/IMG_9785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VUDqHzM4AGM/UnPlDvyZV1I/AAAAAAAAEjc/b_Dg9FoXHcI/s320/IMG_9785.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There were lots of cool decorations alongside the trail....ghosts, skeletons, ghouls...it was spooky, but I made it through.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ns9jgGNmhmY/UnPlCAAHjiI/AAAAAAAAEjU/WWtwhn-hL3I/s1600/IMG_9788.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ns9jgGNmhmY/UnPlCAAHjiI/AAAAAAAAEjU/WWtwhn-hL3I/s320/IMG_9788.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Next we entered a real life hardcore corn maze that one could easily spend several hours lost in....Dad was being kind of a big baby (His actual words: "I've never done this before, and I am terrified")<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GqGPCuHXTCI/UnPlISDLoYI/AAAAAAAAEjo/5Jv9mMEyi4U/s1600/IMG_9791.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GqGPCuHXTCI/UnPlISDLoYI/AAAAAAAAEjo/5Jv9mMEyi4U/s320/IMG_9791.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Richy got to hold the flag (for if we got lost and had to be rescued) and I led the way! I was fearless, running down different paths and telling everyone to follow me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XAYm7wIwv84/UnPlJZxT20I/AAAAAAAAEjs/cpjoD1LVDQo/s1600/IMG_9793.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XAYm7wIwv84/UnPlJZxT20I/AAAAAAAAEjs/cpjoD1LVDQo/s320/IMG_9793.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We finally escaped the corn maze (after thinking that we'd be late for Boo at the Zoo later in the day) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXF0iCQShs4/UnPlONApPtI/AAAAAAAAEkA/ILvCARS9OWE/s1600/IMG_9796.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXF0iCQShs4/UnPlONApPtI/AAAAAAAAEkA/ILvCARS9OWE/s320/IMG_9796.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There were a few other things to see at the Festival....a giant inflatable bounce mat (which I skipped) and huge tractor to pretend to drive...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qKr-gJR-zs8/UnPlMwyS6BI/AAAAAAAAEj8/AVIj3QZDpO4/s1600/IMG_9804.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qKr-gJR-zs8/UnPlMwyS6BI/AAAAAAAAEj8/AVIj3QZDpO4/s320/IMG_9804.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
An enormous sandbox that was filled with corn kernels instead of sand (it really brought out the "digging dog" in us all...) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GCz__ALT2rk/UnPlRz277ZI/AAAAAAAAEkM/cuH0T-Kczio/s1600/IMG_9811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GCz__ALT2rk/UnPlRz277ZI/AAAAAAAAEkM/cuH0T-Kczio/s320/IMG_9811.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
A giant tire farm where you could climb on tires and play around the playground...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-30PZ7wXtFdw/UnPlSZMmHSI/AAAAAAAAEkQ/IWixJQmXkIg/s1600/IMG_9815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-30PZ7wXtFdw/UnPlSZMmHSI/AAAAAAAAEkQ/IWixJQmXkIg/s320/IMG_9815.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And an enormous slide that took you underground. I was very brave, and went through it after patiently waiting in line (the slide was a ribbed pipe so when I went down I went unh-uhn-uhn-uhn-uhn...it was hilarious.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8lGZMv0bZM/UnPlTKrZrgI/AAAAAAAAEkY/udFlCvJh0is/s1600/IMG_9819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8lGZMv0bZM/UnPlTKrZrgI/AAAAAAAAEkY/udFlCvJh0is/s320/IMG_9819.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Finally we got to the important part, which was to pick out a few more pumpkins for the holiday to add to the one I got back in Connecticut.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZVQPOqPOlSs/UnPlpGcLZNI/AAAAAAAAEkk/o7tccOnEw8k/s1600/IMG_9884.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZVQPOqPOlSs/UnPlpGcLZNI/AAAAAAAAEkk/o7tccOnEw8k/s320/IMG_9884.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
When we got back home, Richy taught me some sweet sword moves....he would assign a number to the move, and then call them out, so when he called out the number, I would make the corresponding move....for example, in the image below, he called out the number where I would swipe down and knock the sword out of his hand...FLAWLESS VICTORY!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sWdIJRpbQm4/UnPltVwSUoI/AAAAAAAAEk4/dJ9RMS1c0VQ/s1600/IMG_9885.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sWdIJRpbQm4/UnPltVwSUoI/AAAAAAAAEk4/dJ9RMS1c0VQ/s320/IMG_9885.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
From sword fighting, we moved inevitably to pumpkin carving...Mom drew a face on the small one I got in Connecticut, and she based it on the scary angry face I made...it was really cool.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I8tp9Qt3Jgs/UnPlrNuF45I/AAAAAAAAEks/XSSjhv9Oci0/s1600/IMG_9888.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I8tp9Qt3Jgs/UnPlrNuF45I/AAAAAAAAEks/XSSjhv9Oci0/s320/IMG_9888.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I explained how it would best look, and she did a great job of following my directions...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4NIsSzFtrtk/UnPlsx9LZQI/AAAAAAAAEk0/kFC6p9izZQc/s1600/IMG_9890.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4NIsSzFtrtk/UnPlsx9LZQI/AAAAAAAAEk0/kFC6p9izZQc/s320/IMG_9890.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
All of us worked on pumpkins (Richy carved his and took it home with him) while Mom did the small Connecticut Pumpkin, Dad did his pumpkin, and my pumpkin was the fancy painted one behind me. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-p40wmwgIxQo/UnPlvBmg6aI/AAAAAAAAElE/bKKvYncLiLc/s1600/IMG_9893.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-p40wmwgIxQo/UnPlvBmg6aI/AAAAAAAAElE/bKKvYncLiLc/s320/IMG_9893.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I was the one who drew the face on Dad's, and after he cleaned it out, I just didn't feel like carving out the face would do it justice, so I asked him to leave it....this is how it looked!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q0iUnWWxLQE/UnPlvyTPRsI/AAAAAAAAElI/vcz80XF4YRw/s1600/IMG_9895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q0iUnWWxLQE/UnPlvyTPRsI/AAAAAAAAElI/vcz80XF4YRw/s320/IMG_9895.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We had a pretty good time carving pumpkins and going to the Fall Festival!!! Next year we hope to spend more time there....but this year we had to make it to our first....BOO AT THE ZOO!!!!!!!The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147965432880910726.post-66481615586938829762013-11-04T10:37:00.002-05:002013-11-04T10:37:48.575-05:00Halloween 2013!Happy belated Halloween everyone!<br />
<br />
Sorry for not getting this up sooner, but I was so wrapped up in a ton of great Halloween celebrations!<br />
<br />
Obviously the day of Halloween itself was a big one! It was busy, and fun, and full of great times (and great candy!)<br />
<br />
First we had the big Halloween parade at school! We all got dressed up and walked around the office building that our preschool is located in! I looked AWESOME in my skeleton costume! It was <i>just</i> like I described it to Mom and Dad when I told them I wanted it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QH3RvO9XrZw/UnPkW3g2OkI/AAAAAAAAEi4/xD2aemac6W8/s1600/IMG_9902.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QH3RvO9XrZw/UnPkW3g2OkI/AAAAAAAAEi4/xD2aemac6W8/s320/IMG_9902.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We also got to go upstairs and visit a conference room they had set up for some trick or treating! Everyone sat around in a circle and had bowls of candy. We said 'trick or treat', got some candy, and LOVED IT! At one point, a group was running late, and bumped into us as we were leaving, which meant we got EVEN MORE CANDY ON THE WAY OUT!! Score!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y0uXsmXhQOg/UnaxXEwyJBI/AAAAAAAAEnc/fDbuw-QQWk8/s1600/IMG_9925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y0uXsmXhQOg/UnaxXEwyJBI/AAAAAAAAEnc/fDbuw-QQWk8/s320/IMG_9925.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
At night, we headed out, and even Dad got dressed up this year as a GHOSTBUSTER! Luckily we had him, so we didn't have to be afraid of no ghost. Well, now THAT'S stuck in my head! I have to drink some water to get rid of the song!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-08lL-My2xI4/UnPkVjwe2fI/AAAAAAAAEiw/UKZejGeAeqc/s1600/IMG_9934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-08lL-My2xI4/UnPkVjwe2fI/AAAAAAAAEiw/UKZejGeAeqc/s320/IMG_9934.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We met up with some friends, and walked around the neighborhood to visit lots of houses, get lots of candy, and have lots of fun!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--NpLyr8VNKo/UnPkVcIgiWI/AAAAAAAAEis/7qpFWYMSrgY/s1600/IMG_9935.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--NpLyr8VNKo/UnPkVcIgiWI/AAAAAAAAEis/7qpFWYMSrgY/s320/IMG_9935.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We went up to the doors, ran around the yards, and got to have a blast together. Even when it started raining a little bit, it couldn't dampen (HA!) our spirits at all! We kept moving, and the rain finally stopped.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eUJvCq1w5Uw/UnPkaOvM_9I/AAAAAAAAEjE/FeSqjaFPBSA/s1600/IMG_9936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eUJvCq1w5Uw/UnPkaOvM_9I/AAAAAAAAEjE/FeSqjaFPBSA/s320/IMG_9936.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So many houses were REALLY decked out for Halloween, and even though some of it was scary, I still had SUCH a great time out there!!!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHX6Tib1hEA/UnPkaPZ6tsI/AAAAAAAAEjI/wG2PwqqYeyc/s1600/IMG_9939.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHX6Tib1hEA/UnPkaPZ6tsI/AAAAAAAAEjI/wG2PwqqYeyc/s320/IMG_9939.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I mean LOOK at this haul! That bucket was awfully heavy those last few houses (Thank you Mom and Dad for holding the pumpkin bucket for me, and for bringing it to me when I went to the house, rang the doorbell, then turned around to yell "MOM! DAD! BUCKET!" Totally appropriate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A couple weeks ago, Mom and I met up with Gramma Mindy, Uncle Mat, and Aunt Mallory at Lyman Orchards in Connecticut, to apple and pumpkin picking! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TEP4MIZpiX4/UliMK_SpHwI/AAAAAAAAEgs/7oHQC3lBiYE/s1600/IMG_9746.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TEP4MIZpiX4/UliMK_SpHwI/AAAAAAAAEgs/7oHQC3lBiYE/s320/IMG_9746.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We got to go right up to the trees, and just pluck the apples off of them! We put them in our bags, and got to take them home! It's not like getting them in a store! This is as fresh as they come!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VXr3erV3iVw/UliML9EhylI/AAAAAAAAEg0/BGIcf72qeQk/s1600/IMG_9748.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VXr3erV3iVw/UliML9EhylI/AAAAAAAAEg0/BGIcf72qeQk/s320/IMG_9748.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
They looked so good there on the tree, that it was hard to not grab them all! It was like a story book! Very cool!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GVhSq2_KtAo/UliMP_4YfzI/AAAAAAAAEg8/2PEg_NNeq0Q/s1600/IMG_9749.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GVhSq2_KtAo/UliMP_4YfzI/AAAAAAAAEg8/2PEg_NNeq0Q/s320/IMG_9749.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We all had a really great time, and got to take a bag of apples each!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lejZEkBVxpA/UliMP0MVnCI/AAAAAAAAEhA/lTl6ds5Xt60/s1600/IMG_9751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lejZEkBVxpA/UliMP0MVnCI/AAAAAAAAEhA/lTl6ds5Xt60/s320/IMG_9751.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
There was a lot of walking around, but I was up to the task! Knowing that there was fresh apples at the end of our long walk made it a lot easier!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Is8JJZsnQo/UliMSBhzmJI/AAAAAAAAEhM/9fj9UeEz7Pc/s1600/IMG_9752.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Is8JJZsnQo/UliMSBhzmJI/AAAAAAAAEhM/9fj9UeEz7Pc/s320/IMG_9752.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I even managed to find a bit of time to be silly. We all know how important being silly is during apple picking...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X4VompkK6sY/UliMXEjpFzI/AAAAAAAAEhc/9oOtRyeUEYg/s1600/IMG_9753.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X4VompkK6sY/UliMXEjpFzI/AAAAAAAAEhc/9oOtRyeUEYg/s320/IMG_9753.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I don't think they'll let me use my head as an official scale to see how much we have to pay, but I at least had to TRY.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LuxuwH5DOMA/UliMTjiG86I/AAAAAAAAEhU/KcpH5LLd0Xo/s1600/IMG_9756.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LuxuwH5DOMA/UliMTjiG86I/AAAAAAAAEhU/KcpH5LLd0Xo/s320/IMG_9756.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
We went out to look at pumpkins, too. There were lots of choices, and Aunt Mallory did a great job helping me find the best one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDz7mSkJ2js/UliMZWdN2CI/AAAAAAAAEhk/sMmbnexAlWA/s1600/IMG_9759.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDz7mSkJ2js/UliMZWdN2CI/AAAAAAAAEhk/sMmbnexAlWA/s320/IMG_9759.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This one I ended up with was both the perfect size to carry around, and also the perfect size to carve a jack-o-lantern face!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nmz4lS20d00/UliMeNee3sI/AAAAAAAAEh4/AHkJMGI7X64/s1600/IMG_9760.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nmz4lS20d00/UliMeNee3sI/AAAAAAAAEh4/AHkJMGI7X64/s320/IMG_9760.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I was pretty proud of the decision I made, and couldn't wait to get home and show my Dad!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9VGEm4PcfMw/UliMdidGI3I/AAAAAAAAEh0/d1lexKYTC3s/s1600/IMG_9762.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9VGEm4PcfMw/UliMdidGI3I/AAAAAAAAEh0/d1lexKYTC3s/s320/IMG_9762.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Speaking of Dad, I also found a really great pumpkin for him, but since he really likes going to pumpkin patches, too...I left this one here, and figured we'd wait until we went to get one for him when we got back home to Maryland. I made sure to take a pic though, to let him know I was thinking about him! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lMlhPYE3_OI/UliMaLDBp0I/AAAAAAAAEho/2mFpDO_qV_4/s1600/IMG_9757.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lMlhPYE3_OI/UliMaLDBp0I/AAAAAAAAEho/2mFpDO_qV_4/s320/IMG_9757.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
What better way to end things in the Fall after visiting an orchard than to get some AMAZING doghnuts and cider at the farm stand. We managed to bring home one of the doughnuts to Dad, but JUST BARELY....they were DELICIOUS!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-If4N8bXrBdQ/UliMe5jpWEI/AAAAAAAAEiA/UPBkCKTSVVs/s1600/IMG_9763.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-If4N8bXrBdQ/UliMe5jpWEI/AAAAAAAAEiA/UPBkCKTSVVs/s320/IMG_9763.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

I am mildly embarrassed that this so late, but then again, I am fairly shameless....so that makes it OK. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ZUYz2XaP_M/UaaPbw8PRtI/AAAAAAAAEOc/YzJ86AsGad0/s1600/IMG_8635.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ZUYz2XaP_M/UaaPbw8PRtI/AAAAAAAAEOc/YzJ86AsGad0/s320/IMG_8635.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The event was a lot of fun! The party was thankfully very monkey friendly, so Monkey got to tag along with me. We had a blast hanging out with everyone!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xVzB94-qBO4/UaaPb7VTuII/AAAAAAAAEOg/a1YTArvF4IA/s1600/IMG_8636.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xVzB94-qBO4/UaaPb7VTuII/AAAAAAAAEOg/a1YTArvF4IA/s320/IMG_8636.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
My godmother seemed to have a great time as well! She got to wear a little crown, and had lots of great food and fun times with her friends and family.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RdkilXZLaBs/UaaPcb8S0eI/AAAAAAAAEOo/dcyf0h11Yb8/s1600/IMG_8637.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RdkilXZLaBs/UaaPcb8S0eI/AAAAAAAAEOo/dcyf0h11Yb8/s320/IMG_8637.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And there were OBVIOUSLY lots of really pretty presents!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9RBW8X77_JE/UaaPdWl6uQI/AAAAAAAAEO0/9CsoL0W5r7s/s1600/IMG_8638.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9RBW8X77_JE/UaaPdWl6uQI/AAAAAAAAEO0/9CsoL0W5r7s/s320/IMG_8638.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I got to spend a lot of time with Mom's side of the family. Gramma Mindy, JustRichy, and Aunt Mallory were in attendance. They enjoyed the time at the party, too!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RDfPhBndYFU/UaaPdpveCsI/AAAAAAAAEO4/LAOf8afHLT8/s1600/IMG_8639.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RDfPhBndYFU/UaaPdpveCsI/AAAAAAAAEO4/LAOf8afHLT8/s320/IMG_8639.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
One of the things Mallory enjoyed doing was taking fun pictures of Monkey and and showing them to me...luckily, one of my favorite past times was having pictures taken of me and then shared with me.<br />

After the party, I brought out the superheroes that I had brought <i>specifically</i> for Aunt Mallory and I to play with. I knew even before I went up there that the Incredible Hulk was all Mallory's (She does an awesome "Hulk Smash") and I was going to be Batman (I do an awesome emotionless gravelly voice that lends itself well to parody) <br />

While Mallory and I were playing, JustRichy worked on building a new castle that Gramma Mindy had gotten me. It had lots of pieces, and easily the worst set of instructions on the face of the Earth. Seriously, it's like someone who didn't know how to put the castle together wrote out the instructions, and then gave it to someone and said "Hey...this makes too much sense. Can you photocopy it on an old 1992 Konica Black and White copier that is at the end of its useful life? YEAH...that looks PERFECT! <i>THAT</i> is what we're putting in the box...."<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oIpqyiNQqYE/UaaPfdNyy8I/AAAAAAAAEPQ/H110A1o1-bA/s1600/IMG_8648.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oIpqyiNQqYE/UaaPfdNyy8I/AAAAAAAAEPQ/H110A1o1-bA/s320/IMG_8648.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So good on Richie, he got it mostly put together, and I got to travel back in time with my knight figures (Which, even when the castle isn't assembled, are pretty awesome toys on their own)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1VrSlbTnpg4/UaaPf-qNCdI/AAAAAAAAEPY/kZgbqummAhY/s1600/IMG_8649.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1VrSlbTnpg4/UaaPf-qNCdI/AAAAAAAAEPY/kZgbqummAhY/s320/IMG_8649.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
There was a drawbridge so I could keep out the bad guys....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And there were lots of turrets for me to post guards at....it was a really cool toy.<br />

Luckily, Mom had time to get over to Gramma Debbie's house during this trip, and I got to spend some time playing with her and Nicholas...to drive home how long ago this visit was, Nicholas moved into his own house (with his Mom and Dad, of course) already, and doesn't even live there anymore.<br />

Oh...and Nicholas has a lightsaber. An ACTUAL lightsaber, people!<br />
<br />
**Disclaimer. This lightsaber is only a toy, and cannot <i>actually</i> be used a laser sword. Just before we went to Maine, actually, I got a present from Mom and Dad (using a Christmas gift card to Toys r Us from some very generous friends) it was something I had been hoping for and dreaming of for a long time...<br />
<br />
Are you ready for this one? My very own...<br />
<br />
BUZZ...<br />
<br />
LIGHTYEAR....<br />
<br />
TOY!<br />
<br />
Look at this thing! We went to Toys r Us and picked out the Buzz Lightyear that I wanted (it came in a spaceship box JUST like the Toy Story movie!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l3BnQcdh-tw/UkLnk2i5i4I/AAAAAAAAEf0/rXb6a_Rg5Iw/s1600/toy-story-buzz-lightyear-300x178.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l3BnQcdh-tw/UkLnk2i5i4I/AAAAAAAAEf0/rXb6a_Rg5Iw/s1600/toy-story-buzz-lightyear-300x178.jpg" /></a></div>
I got to pick out the one I wanted (it even came with a certificate of authenticity! It's my very first certificate of authenticity!<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Tlv8WT6p8yA/UkLm4MyvlNI/AAAAAAAAEfs/5PwN0eR_E9k/s1600/IMAG1170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Tlv8WT6p8yA/UkLm4MyvlNI/AAAAAAAAEfs/5PwN0eR_E9k/s320/IMAG1170.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Look at this guy! He's just like the one in the movie! He talks and moves, and has gadgets, and his wings pop up, and he makes flying sounds, and his head moves, and his helmet pops open, and his communicator and laser REALLY work (well at least as much as they did in the movie. As Woody the Cowboy wisely noted, Buzz is "JUST....A...TOY!!!!"<br />

I can't tell you how super psyched I was to have this guy....<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's a lot of fun to play with, and he was actually a great travel companion both in the car going to Maine and while I was there. Now...I bet he'd like a Woody doll to play with... The P-G Kidshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797585174848682401noreply@blogger.com0
