Millions of peaches!!!

....peaches for me!

Or just one....OK, HALF of one...but today I tried peaches! Dad kept singing that song while he fed them to me (and also the spanish version....miliones de melocotones!)

I liked peaches...they were sweet, with just the right amount of tartness to them...I gobbled them up, but may have spoken too soon when I expressed my glee at trying peaches...I may have developed a tummy ache after eating them, and had a lot of trouble going to sleep last night. We'll try peaches again tonight, to see if it was a fluke, or if my little body just doesn't dig peaches....

Corny...

I apologize for the slightly graphic and scatological nature of this entry but you are, after all, reading a blog about a baby, by a baby...so poop had to come up sooner or later.

I have officially tried corn. I am a huge fan, but what's the deal with all the corn in my poop. I mean...HELLO!? I thought I was supposed to be digesting stuff down there! How does that count?

Did I get ANY nutrients? I mean, C'mon! My parents tell me that this happens to adults also, but on a lesser scale. Shame...I do so enjoy corn. I suppose I'll keep eating it and deal with the consequences.

I may have neglected to mention this earlier, but I also tried oatmeal, which my body was not quite prepared for...the result? Ah....you don't want to to hear more poop stories...

Rested and ready to go!

Yeah, you're getting accustomed to these "I have returned" posts...but I really have!

It has been a long month for me and the fam. There has been lots of traveling (South Carolina! Maine! Connecticut!) lots of exciting events (weddings! a graduation! my first trip to the Maine cabin!) and it was exhausting, but quite rewarding.

What was going on, you ask? What were we doing?

Stop by and see...more updates soon!

And even some pictures....I mean, you HAVE to stop by and see the pictures!!

Requiem For My Space Invader Pajamas...

It's not often that I get attached to an item of clothing. I often leave that to the people around me...they think I look cute in something, and so they're sad to see them go. This is normal, I suppose, but nothing affected my parents and I quite like losing the Space Invader Jammies...

I'm not certain who got them for me, but for some reason, they were just the most comfortable things, ( a plus for me) and also adorable as all get out ( a plus for my fans)

They were a two piece, and featured the little Space Invader characters all over them...nothing made me or my parents happier than when I was curled up in these guys, but recently, it became apparent to all involved, that I was just growing out of them.

My jammies will be missed...thank you for providing me comfort, and making me look darn cute while you were at it...

Baby Tour 2009_Leg_4_Part_2_Mike and Jill's Wedding

In an attempt to upstage a bride and groom yet again, since Auntie Stephanie and Uncle Brian maintained their hold on the attention at their recent wedding, I went to my Mom's cousin's wedding....and failed yet again.

The wedding was beautiful, very simple, tasteful, and a lot of fun!

Mom's cousins Jill and Mike got married outside in front of a little gazebo overlooking a lake. The weather was perfect, and the wedding was very sweet to behold.

This was our first experience with my Jeep Stoller, and I took on the hilly, dirt path up to the gazebo without a hint of worry. We conquered it all!!

During the wedding, JustRichy entertained me with Mr. Lyon, among other things...

And of course, after he made that silly face, and did the "7 Eggs" routine originated by my Dad, I reacted in THIS way:

One of the favors was a foldable fan for people to cool themselves throughout the ceremony (along with bubbles with I recommend HEARTILY) and they let me play with it, since they were wrapped in a crinkly plastic which I LOVE playing with!

Once the wedding ceremony was over, we took some pictures, and headed inside for the reception. Mike is in a band, and knows lots of friends in bands, and so they play at each other's events! How cool is THAT!? Their first dance was fast, and unique, and the band that played was pretty good. The food was tasty, and everyone seemed to be having a good time...

I, of course, was exhausted...my sleeping pattern gets thrown off whenever I travel long distances, and this was no exception.

Gramma Mindy let me have some water which I am enamored with, especially on a hot day (Don't worry...no one gives me too much, and they are very careful with giving it to me...

I even got to see my Godmother, Amber for awhile....she said that I don't have fun when I'm with her, but I keep trying to assure that it's just because of how tired I tend to be when I see her...also, when you keep a napkin this close to me...I'm having plenty of fun...trust me!
Alas, much as I tried, I just couldn't stay awake...so Dad ended up rocking me to sleep. I managed to snag a picture with the bride and groom (Which is really like getting a picture with a celebrity at these weddings) but I was, of course, sleeping...Look how Gramma Mindy, and Amber part when a photo of me is requested. They're well trained. :-P
We had to go right home after the wedding, so that was a little rough on me, and doubly rough on Mom and Dad who had to drive with CrankySam...my evil alter ego which comes out rarely, but with such misery...it's hard to contain.

And off we went on a long, tough drive home...but we still did it! Another great weekend, with its share of challenges...but great nonetheless!

Baby Tour 2009_Leg_4_Part_1

Another day, another post catching you all up on my life in recent weeks...while we continue our relaxing time up here in Maine, here is another oldie (but a goodie) I'm almost TOTALLY caught up!

A few weeks ago, Baby Tour '09 continued, when I ventured up to Connecticut to attend a wedding on my Mom's side of the family. We decided to go up a bit earlier in order to visit with my Dad's side of the family for awhile too!

We like to spread the Sam around...we're not selfish. :-)

My Uncle took time off from work, and my Auntie had the day off already, so they were gonna get a whole lotta Sam!! Here, they feed me solids for the first time...it really doesn't matter who feeds me...that stuff is GOOD!

We spent the whole day at my Gramma Debbie's house, and we got to play a lot! (we of course played in between bouts of sleeping on my part...sorry, I'm a baby...I do that!!)

Auntie Steph held me, while clearing the table of anything for me to grab (THAT'S not very fair, Auntie!) as you can see by my smile, I love Auntie Steph a lot! She loves her "little man" and isn't afraid to show it (By giving me lots of hugs, and a plethora of adorable outfits!)

Uncle Steve held me and I played the "Catch the Fingers" game...basically, Mom and Dad discovered that if you wiggle your fingers in front of my face, I grab them to stop them from wiggling...obviously, I have very small hands that match my very small body, so I can only grab a couple at a time. While I hold those, you wiggle the free ones, and I let go of the ones I had to catch the ones that are moving.

Make sense?

It provides Dad a way to entertain me (and those watching him) on the Metro ride home from daycare. As you can see in the picture, this game requires my utmost concentration...

Here, Uncle Steve says "Boom!" while Mom tickles me...What? I thought it was funny!

As always, I had a blast at Da Gramma's house! It was fun seeing Auntie Steph, and Uncle Steve, and I appreciated that they took time off to hang out with little old me. Da Gramma was, as always, very welcoming (Even when Mom and Dad show up last minute to spend a few days there)

And we wrap it up, with Da Gramma cracking me up, as she always does!

Heat it up!

Here we have another new food added to my repertoire...Oatmeal! While I enjoyed the taste, the oatmeal KIND of did a number on my little guts...let's just say that I'm off oatmeal for a little while, and keep it at that.

I did enjoy the new taste, and this was really the first warm food I've tried, so there was THAT, but I'm gonna hold off on having oatmeal for a little while, until my tummy is a little more iron clad.

As you can tell, I also managed to avoid getting too much of it on me. I really did enjoy that oatmeal. God, I miss you already, my oatey friend....

mmmmmmmm

HAPPY BELATED FATHER'S DAY!

Last month was Father's Day...and for some odd reason, as I looked back over old blog entries, I see that I have forgotten entirely to mention it!

Yeesh....considering the fact that Dad helps me type these things, it was SUPER awkward having him help me with this entry.

He was understanding, though...he knows how hard it is out there for a kid like me, being as busy and popular as I am...

I hope that no one out there (especially my Dad) felt slighted...we actually had a really great first Father's Day!

Dad had to work in the morning and early afternoon, but when he got home, Mom made him a REALLY nice dinner, and gave him a gift that I helped with...Check it out!

Yep...those are my little feet there! Mom went to a crafts place and painted this coffee mug for Dad, with my assistance! The paint was cold, and tickled my feet a bit (and GOD did I want to eat it...) but it was a lot of fun to get to help!

Now, you may think a coffee mug is a cliche "Dad" gift, right up there with a tie...but Dad is a coffee JUNKIE, so it was the perfect gift. He LOVED the mug, and has been using it almost exclusively ever since Father's Day!

So...I just wanted to say a belated Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there (and to my Grandfathers as well...while only one is still with us, I know that the other is watching over me)

And a special thanks to my Dad....he was always worried that he wouldn't be a good Dad, but Mom and I do our best to tell him how wrong he was. (That's actually one of Mom's favorite things to do, in general...) He and I have a lot of fun together, and I'm happy we get to spend his weekend (Thursday and Friday) together, and that he picks me up from daycare and all that...He is funny, and I can tell that he loves me a lot, because he makes a fool of himself in the subway to keep me entertained.

Thanks for everything, Dad!
